Fun local bar and restaurant. A variety of staple type foods as well as their own specialties. Good place to grab a drink. They decorate for various holidays too. Nice outdoor space to enjoy a drink and hang out with folks. Also a fun pop-up Christmas bar.

Echoing other reviews but yeah, the crab cakes? Awesome. They also really deck the place out for Halloween. It would be just as great year round.
We're visiting from Ohio but will return the next time we're in NC.

Bonzer shrimp was really tasty, but $17 for 5 shrimp is a little crazy to me.

So they show up in the $10-$20 range, meanwhile there wasn’t much under $20. I ordered the crab cakes at MP which ended up being $35, but it tasted like it came out of a can imo. My husband had the fish tacos that didn’t come with fries and honestly did not hit for him.

Staff were friendly though. Price point on google needs to be updated. On top of the inaccurate price, the price did not reflect the quality of the food for us.

I was visiting from out of town and walked in to get a to-go menu. The place was almost empty and clearly not busy. Called back an hour later to place a takeout order as we wanted to eat in the comfort of the condo we are renting directly across the street. The woman who answered the phone told us that they could NOT do a take out order due to being short staffed. I asked how long the wait was and was informed there was no wait & the dining room wasn't too busy. I proceeded to ask why they couldn't do a takeout order and was told again they were short staffed which didn't make any sense since there was maybe 2 people inside. She acted almost upset that I asked why they couldn't do a takeout order then. I understand that they were short staffed, however I don't understand how they could be too busy to do a takeout order considering there was no one inside. She almost acted upset that I questioned why they couldn't do a take out if they were not busy. Her response was (and woth a rude tone) "I am not doing a takeout order". I'm completely blown away how unprofessional and almost rude I was treated. You just lost a $50 order bc the staff was too lazy to box up the same items they would have plated if we dined in. Incredibly dissapointed & will not be bringing this establishment my business which I was originally excited for. It 100% doesn't make any sense. I felt 100% unwelcomed to eat there

If I could leave zero stars I would.

For $60 for two people, this place was a rip off. Between the raw and half frozen beef patty, to the stale bun and soggy fries, I'm not sure what was worse. Then $6 for a 12oz can of beer LOL. Would not recommend.

The debut of a new Surf movie, "Should've been here an hour ago!" was awesome! WRV & PACIFICO Sponsored the event with over 100 in attendance! Well done! Some of the best Surfers from all around the world were there!! ALL In conjunction with the WSL QS-1000 contest at Jennettes pier!!

I was in town for a quick weekend with the family in Kill Devil Hills when I stumbled across this restaurant. Its been awhile since I had been to OBX and I knew that I was looking for a fun 'beach shack' with beachy drinks and tasty food, and Google led me to Bonzer Shack. I had never been but it looked like exactly what I wanted, and it certainly was. I went in on Saturday and got the Painkiller and Bonzer Punch which were both delicious. The BLT with fried green tomatoes was amazing and the french fries were perfect. My mom joined me for a cherry limeade and crab cakes and was also happy with her drink and food. The atmosphere was also exactly what I was looking for. The staff was friendly but professional, there was a lot of fun stuff to look at (especially the surfboards hanging from the ceiling!), and the whole vibe was very relaxed, exactly what you're looking for on vacation.

The experience was so perfect that we decided to go back the next day for lunch. Our bartender/server Keeley (I'm sorry if I'm spelling your name wrong!) instantly remembered us and even remembered our orders from the day before. We got the same drinks since they were so good! For food, we got burgers this time and they were great.

Next time I'm back in the area I will definitely be coming back. Thank you Keeley and Bonzer Shack staff for helping to make this a great beach weekend.
