I ordered a red velvet cake from the King’s with very short notice (less than 24 hours) for my dad‘s birthday and Robin immediately called me to clarify a few details - which is always a great sign…communication, even at night!
the cake was beautiful, huge and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend her bakery. folks should try local bakeries in the winston area, rather than dewey’s!

Robin makes the absolute BEST pineapple cake - fluffy, with a tender crumb, and moist (sorry) with an amazingly light and refreshing pineapple topping (not really an icing - think more cool whip consistency). We used to purchase slices of her cake in various coffee shops and restaurants around town, but then we learned that King Classic Bakery was their supplier, so we went straight to the source! Robin's cakes are amazing!

We had a little mishap with the order not being ready when we went to pick it up. But Robin went out of her way “literally” to correct the problem and she delivered us a delicious sheet cake just in time for our party. We had the white cake which was fluffy and moist. Everyone was very happy and I would say overall, the cake was pretty good! I would go back again.

We were really looking forward to visiting this bakery. We travelled six hours to go there during a foliage tour. .When we arrived in King, N.C. we searched and searched for the bakery only to find out that they had moved to Winston Salem, N.C. and of course, wasn't open that day even though they said they would be open, as we had called the day before to be sure!!! Very disappointing.

We saw the signage hanging outside about famous eclairs so we went in to see what this was all about. We met the owner Robin who gave us some history of her famous eclairs. After she was done describing her signature chocolate eclair we had to try one. While not on my diet - I split one with my wife. OH SO GOOD! It is not often you find someone with a passion for their work, with Robin we found one. You can see the pride and passion for what she does. All of her fresh baked on premise items looked so delicious. Should our travels bring us back to Winston - Salem we will be sure to stop here again for these delicious and amazing chocolate eclairs. Highly recommend

Best homemade Hummingbird cake I have ever ate. You can tell it is has everything fresh in it. The fruit to the fresh pecans and spices oh and that homemade cream cheese buttercream icing is out of this world good. This is my place for good homemade fresh cakes from now on. Oh and the price is so good. 40.00 for a three layer. Everyone else charges around 60 to 70 dollars. The best customer service. If you come in they are right there to serve you and so friendly. The most friendly place I have been too.

I love Hummingbird cakes and so I ordered one from Kings Bakery. When I picked it up they first looked like they didn't know about the order and then said oh yes we have it back here. They pulled a sticker off a cake a handed it to me. i paid about $40 for the cake. Got it home and it was such a disappointed...it was like a spice cake mix from a grocery store with some icing on top. So I don't know if they just handed me something they thought I wouldn't know but it was nothing like the great Hummingbird cakes other places make, I could not believe I paid 40 dollars for a low quality spice cake. Never again.
