What happened here? I haven't been in years now I remember why. The food was absolutely garbage! I threw most of my food away because it taste horrible. You can't trick people with food that's not fresh and springs rolls cooked in old grease. Has no taste.

This place doesn’t even need 1 star. Shouldn’t have even ordered after walking in the place with how nasty it was. Then after I was eating my lunch I thought I noticed a bug in my food. And after digging it out it definitely was. I was then sick at that point and took my plate directly to the counter and the lady just turns around and looks at the cook. Like this has happened plenty of times and says sorry. They did refund my money after I requested a refund but at that point that’s not enough. And just want to add. The food that I had eaten before I found this bug was not good at all. It had no taste and was definitely the worst Japanese restaurant I had ever tried. My employee that was eating lunch with me felt the same way and he also threw his entire plate away after seeing the bug.

Yamato show discrimination and food was terrible.I know they have signs on their doors no out side food but my family wanted to eat there my son who is 10 doesnt eat Japanese foodso we stop at McDonalds infor of them bought him a burger and drink we noticed that there was another party of people who did the same but for multiple people intheir group nothing was said to them but the mexican was singled out my child we spent 150.00 dollars in food there for them to say something about my child eating a burger there i will never return four people that day got sick from ourgroup i think they had the same food as well shrimp plates. Good luck if you try them out hope its better then our experience. UPDATED Well it's been a while so I thought I'd give Them a try this time I order big shrimp togo found a fly in my rice before I even got started eating thanks, so I have the entire plate I contacted them and basically was told oo no no we don't got flies that came from you. Like excuse ? Me why would I have a plate never touched bringing it back cause a bug was in it how is that on me I think I'm gonna call the health department on them they need to be shut down!!!!!

Best shrimp sauce also has the tastiest spring rolls which are not on the menu but iykyk and homemade duck sauce that is slammin. This place is the best Yamatos hands down. Never had one bite of food that wasnt satisfying. The owner is super sweet and them Mexicans can cook like yo momma.

I heard good things about this place so i decided to try. Americanized Thai/Chinese food. I ordered a chicken hibachi plate with carrots. The carrots were sweet and tasted like they came out of a can and the chicken was rubbery. The rice wasn’t even fried it was still mostly white. I also found a hair in my rice and i decided to throw it away. I paid like 12$ and I would rather go to Rice Authentic on the other side of town

I looked at the online menu and ordered scallops and chicken. It was 9.99 on the menu, when I got there it was 16.99 so the menu online is wrong and should be updated. The food was good but not good enough for that price. Ordered egg rolls and they were over cooked and not very good. It was close to closing time so they may be better earlier in the day. The front door was locked so I went through the drive thru to pick up my order. The guy at the window was nice enough. I may try them again but something less pricy when I can look at the actual menu prices.

Simple environment. Friendly staff and food is great for the Kings Mountain area, will definitely be a go to while in town but don’t forget to add your own salt and pepper!

They charge for using a debit card! I will not pay for debit. So I don't care if I have cash, I still will not spend my money here or anywhere that charges for debit card in today's age of technology. Also, I always get the steak and chicken teriyaki plate, no shrimp sauce, no carrots, like almost $15.00. I asked for 8 packs of Soy sauce, the woman at the window said 5 was the max, I offered to pay for more, she refused. Mind you I didn't get shrimp sauce or carrots, they don't knock off the price for that, but she still would not give me OR sell me 3 more packs of Soy. So if I wanted my plate to taste how I like it, I guess I would have to buy Soy sauce at the grocery store. And people are right, here lately their food quality is down, chewy rice tough steak and chicken and they also skimp on the broccoli. I'm done with Yamato, all of them.
