Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries

I just go for the jalapeno steak and cheese. Service has been good.

Absolutely an amazing place filled with the vest people you can meet go in and try some of the food from sums to burgers to their custard it's all worth it. Trust not only that but the store is clean and I always am greeted with smiles coming thru the door.

I called my food in and when I got home burger was made wrong and fries were not done. Spent $12 and I was horrible. And the lady that took my order put it in right.

Found metal pieces in my burger and the burnt ends were all fat no meat. Never going back. Called corporate and they didn't do anything about it

No shrimp.

Fries were cold and soggy like they were sitting in grease, waitress acted like she didn't want to be there

Food was great, but when you say HOT FUDGE I don’t want Hersey Chocolate

I wish there was one closer to where I live. The food here is impeccable if you like good southern hamburgers and hotdogs. The service is just okay and there's not a lot of space in the booths if you have 4-5 people, but the food more than makes up for it.

First off, the restaurant is trying to give a nostalgic 70's era feel but it's not clean over the nostalgic looks. The food is okay for what is served. Nothing to get excited about in my opinion. But, I was really turned off by seeing the cook preparing the food over the grill with his hair swing loosely over the food! 🤢 The restaurant staff was friendly but the cooks with no hair nets are a no go to this restaurant!

If there’s a burger paradise on earth, it’s Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries in Kinston! I rolled in hungry, ordered the Andy's Cheeseburger Special, and by the time I took my last bite, I was convinced this meal could cure bad moods, heartbreaks, and possibly even minor back pain.

The cheeseburger? A masterpiece. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and topped like it was built for greatness. Every bite had that classic diner magic—crisp edges on the beef, gooey melted cheese, and just the right amount of fixings to make you question why you ever eat anywhere else. The fries were golden, crispy, and probably fried by the hands of angels. And don’t get me started on the shake—pure, creamy bliss in a cup.

Now, as someone who runs D & D Pest Control Co. in Eastern North Carolina, I’ve seen a lot of hungry pests in my day, but let me tell you, not even a cockroach would dare take a bite out of this burger before I did! Hwy 55’s food is too good to share—even with a pest control guy who’s seen it all.

Great food, friendly service, and a meal that makes you want to schedule your next visit before you even leave the parking lot. Highly recommend!

The staff here is amazing! Food is always great and the bathroom is always clean. We have been to other HWY 55 in the area and they were terrible. Huge thank you!
