We stopped here as a big group on the way to the beach. The place is quite large and we were easily accommodated. The buffet seems to be the best option, there are lots of options including bbq options, sides, salad. bar and dessert. It's not fancy but a good place to stop.
Back in the day Kings was a awesome place to stop on the way to or from the beach . Times change as well as ownership.. I ordered combo platter .. chicken was crispy and tasted ok but dry ,, bbq had zero flavor but was moist , fries were just weird , beer battered.. Cole slaw was old school Kings , finely minced cabbage , sugar , pickle relish ,carrots ,mayonnaise... Sweet and delicious.. Hushpuppies were hot and fresh Iced tea was OK.. wife had trout platter ..doubt the trout was fresh not frozen , waitress had hard time keeping up , tea glass was empty a lot .. Watched the folks at the oyster bar commit era after era .. mishandling seafood .. Wilbur King would be a little upset that his famous family restaurant has slipped as much as it has ..
I had St. Louis BBQ with green beans and dry beans which I learned is big butter beans and some sausage. One of the best things I ever put in my mouth. So friendly.
My friend had grilled trout. Big serving and delicious. So affordable. I want to move in next door.

In a private room rented for a family reunion set up for 100. Some items on the public regular buffet were not available on our menu.

It's okay, quite a few choices around the area for eastern Carolina bbq. A little slow and the pulled pork is not seasoned/smoked much. The sauce is nearly straight vinegar, low effort there. On the bright side I got the special and it was less than 10 bucks with a drink.

Stopped by for a takeout order of literally one sandwich and it took 25 minutes for me to receive my order. At least five other customers received their order before me when they had come in well after me.
