Great atmosphere, staff are friendly too. Good food as well. I meet a friend from Rocky Mount there for lunch every other week. We enjoy the comfort to sit and talk without being lead to believe we are in the way by staying too long. The owner is down to earth and very sociable.

Nothing personal against Kings BBQ, but eastern NC BBQ just sucks. Ordered the pork sandwich and asked the waitress for some BBQ sauce and she pointed to a bottle on the table that had vinegar and red pepper. I really wanted some of the sauce that they use on their ribs. Since they don't offer baked beans or sweet onion rings, I ordered the fried okra. Bland and not fresh. Didn't chance the coleslaw, since that vinegar/mustard based and awful. The best BBQ in the area that is not the eastern stuff is Mission BBQ in Jacksonville.

Unfortunately we were too hungry to pose with our food, but it was absolutely delicious. Mike was our server and he was awesome!!! Saw an old friend Micaela working there and it made the visit that more special!!! There were so many options to choose from and their specials definitely made it affordable!!!

I happen to be passing through Kinston. Mark from the visitor Center suggested Kings as I wanted to sample southern style Barbeque. I took out an order of baby back ribs, it came with 2 sides.I could not wait to get to my hotel in Emerald isle so I can finally dig in.Guys the ribs were really good. The flavor of their sauce was so yummy and they were fall off the bone. It was finger liking good!!!Parking: It was quite easy to find parking. Take out orders are towards the back of the restaurant. I suggest you drive your car there to the left side of the restaurant that is facing the street. Park, go inside, place your order… pay … then wait about 5-10’ as they are very busy… at least when I got there around 5:30.Yummy!!!

My visit to Kings occurred during my first time visiting Kinston, NC. The food was absolutely delicious. Being given the choice to eat from the menu or the buffet was a big positive for me. My colleagues and I chose the buffet, and it didn't disappoint! The atmosphere is really relaxed and the old pictures/memorabilia pieces found in the foyer area were really cool! I'd recommend anyone try Kings at least once!
