Smithfield’s Chicken & Bar-B-Q in Kinston, North Carolina is like walking into a comfort food hug. From the moment you walk in, the smell of slow-cooked barbecue and fried chicken practically tackles you (in the best way possible). The chicken is always crispy, juicy, and seasoned just right, and that BBQ? Oh, it’s smoky, tender, and has that “I might need a second plate” effect. The hush puppies are dangerously addictive — I swear they disappear faster than a mosquito in a bug zapper.
We often stop by when D & D Pest Control Co. is out servicing customers in Eastern North Carolina, and it’s the perfect place to recharge. The staff is friendly, the sweet tea is exactly how sweet tea should be, and the portions are more than generous.
Big thanks to the crew at Smithfield’s for keeping the quality high and the flavors bold. You make our lunch breaks feel like mini-vacations, and that’s no small feat!

Well prepared BBQ plates with baby shrimp, slaw, fries, puppies and bread. Nice sauces and sides too. Good Ole sweet tea. Servers were well trained and professional. A lot of police officers eat there.

Today was my first visit to Smithfield's in Kinston. I was greeted when entering. Front staff were friendly (with a smile) and helpful. Food was hot, delicious, generous ,and prompt. The dining area was clean. I didn't have to search for a clean table or clean one myself, as I have had to do in other restaurants. A wonderful eating experience!

I had a combo meal chicken and bbq. The food was delicious, hot, tasty and service was the best. I am traveling and will for sure eat here again when I am by here. The portion was large and price was quite reasonable. Completely enjoy.
We catered for 20 people for Christmas. Scheduled to pick it up at 11:45am on Saturday. The order was ready on time. Hot things were hot and cold things were cold. All was great. Everyone was completely satisfied. Will definitely use you for our next big gathering.
