The food here is great. However, I will say the level of service at the Kinston location makes me want to take the drive to the Goldsboro location. Bartender didn’t seem to care about serving me but apparently some regulars (making a positive assumption here) came in and she was all over them. So, if you go for dining, you will love it. Going to the bar may have a different experience depending upon who you are I guess!
My friend and I was just at The Laughing Owl waiting for someone to acknowledge us to be seated. NOT ONE EMPLOYEE SAID A WORD TO US. A group of 4 white women( don't want to make it about color but it is what it is) walked in after us and was standing BEHIND us. Mind yall we haven't been acknowledged....The female bartender(i was told is the manager on duty) acknowledged the group of ladies asked how many was in their party and told THEM they can have a seat. While some dishes like the Signature soup may not be a hit, the curry dishes are highly recommended. The Walnut Shrimp with cashews is a favorite, and the poppers are surprisingly good. With a nice atmosphere and good service, this restaurant comes highly recommended.
