Great experience, waiters very nice, great food
Stopped in and enjoyed a Barbecue Chicken Pizza with my wife while here on vacation and I think we found our new favorite pizza in the OBX. Excellent crust!
My daughter & I have been coming for years now. You can tell they're using high quality flour for the pizza dough. Truly excellent; a gift to have this on OBX.🙌
One tip is we recommend is to order pies with "light sauce" to get it closer to the NY style pies we love.
Wings, calamari & fries also top class appetizers/sides. Excellent assortment of red wines by the glass too. The Toscana red blend is my value pick👍

Max's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria offers a great dining experience with a casual atmosphere. The service is excellent, and the food is exceptional, with delicious wings and exceptional pizza that exceeds expectations. The lasagna comes with bread and a dinner salad, and the portions are perfect, with generous servings like the massive stromboli. The pizza has tasty sauce and perfect cheese, making it one of the best in the area. This affordable restaurant is a great spot for a quick and excellent meal while on vacation in Outer Banks. The NY style pizza is excellent, nicely balanced sauce with just the right amount of toppings. Cannoli and Tiramisu cake are great additions to round out a delicious meal. Service friendly and helpful. The menu looks delicious. The calamari was still tender and fantastic, highly recommend the calamari pizza was good too!! Nice staff, quick service, very clean inside. Highly recommend it for more than just pizza but the pizza is good! Max's is new to us, so we tried. We were so impressed and happy for a place of good pizza again…crust great, pizza full with everything advertised and delicious sausage. They raised the bar over local “go-tos”. Absolutely delicious. We had pepperoni pizza, Alfredo, chicken parm, and garlic bread. Everything was so good. Would Absolutely recommend this place to others! Amazing food. My husband has lived in NYC and in Italy and simply raves about the pizza at Max's! Everything our party of 6 ordered was stellar!
