We really wanted to love this restaurant however today was very disappointing. We came from Nebo because I had saw so many great reviews and pictures about Canoe Kitchen. We all ordered crab cakes and other things from the tapas menu, two of the crab cakes came out cold but mine was warm so I ate it and it tasted good. They refired the other two and because they were frozen it took quite a bit of time. We asked if they could just be taken off the bill and get boxes for the rest of the food The owner came out to talk to us and said she wouldn’t take them off the bill but when they came out they would put them in a box to go. She did offer us a birthday dessert on the house which we gladly took because were there for a birthday lunch. I then became unwell and ended up vomiting up my crab cake. The two other ladies ended up leaving there to go crab cakes on the table. We did pay for all the food and upon leaving we told our waitress what happened she said ok I’ll let them know. I’m very sad to have to write this because we really wanted to have a nice lunch. We did however enjoy Bloody Mary!!! Good place for cocktails and maybe other things on the menu won’t induce vomiting. Please see the response to the review the owner gave. What I didn’t put in the original review was you said crab cakes aren’t cheap and we can’t take them off the bill. It’s sad that’s what happened but it did. I’m sorry that you can’t see that. We did see that the Lake house restaurant was packed, we should have made better decisions that day.

We had a great experience dinning at Canoe on a late Sunday evening. Owner Ashley was so welcoming and friendly. Loved hearing the story of why they started the business. Our spicy mules, summer salad and steak frites were really good. The atmosphere is eclectic and fun. We will definitely be back.

I have been to canoe a few times now. First couple were just for drinks with friends and it was a great time. Second time was just with my husband and we walked in just looking to sit at the bar and were kind of rudely greeted because we didn’t have a reservation but once we said we just wanted a drink we were told it was fine. Then we went in Valentine’s Day. Made reservations for two adults and two teens. They had a set menu. The boys were given kids menus when though they are over 12 and would have absolutely eaten the steak. But they also don’t mind hotdogs so they just ordered from that. They were very disappointed when the dish came out. It looked like one hotdog total cut into pieces and spit between the two if them over fries. And you will not convince me that they each got one hotdog. And they were $15 per kids meal. That’s an absolute insane price for a kids meal that’s not even a full meal. You can order an adult meal for a couple dollars more but that wasn’t an available option on this day I guess. I will say our valentine meal was delicious and steak was perfectly cooked. Marge meal came with a slice of cake and we asked if the boys could have one, obviously we would pay, and were told no because they only make just enough per the reservations. This is odd to me since you should always plan for more and in my reservation I mentioned teens and not children so we fully expected them to initially have the steak meal with us. Once we finished it took a while before receiving a check but they had an artist playing so it was fine to sit and listen. Overall we like the place but the kids menu or at lease the hotdogs is ridiculous.
