Heidi was AMAZING! The food is very fresh with clean ingredients with great drink selections! We recieved the best service. The view was amazing, and would recommend over the Lakehouse for a more intimate setting!

What an experience we had today! When you’re willing to accommodate staffing issues because your chef is the only employee who shows up and has to be the server and chef, customers should at least be treated kindly. Banging/throwing items on the table, under the breath using the “f” word to other customers that was heard by patrons and screaming at us as we are walking out the door does not make for a lovely lunch atmosphere. There was no signage stating the restaurant was cashless…the chef/server was unable to make change for her own tip so yelled across the restaurant to us as if it were our fault. Overall the atmosphere was uncomfortable which is disappointing for locals who support local businesses. The food was good but we probably won’t be back.

Response: Being local, we are aware of some staffing issues which is why we were willing to be accommodating. Your chef was not friendly, in fact quite the opposite. When the owner or manager stopped by, why she didn’t stay to help the chef is hard to believe. Slamming things, cursing and screaming across the restaurant are inappropriate under any circumstances.

We had a wonderful meal at Canoe Kitchen and Bar while in Lake Lure for a family trip. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our family, including presenting each of the kids with a mini easel, canvas and paints. They were so kind and attentive. The food also was delicious - the menu was varied and had something for everyone in our diverse group. The pizza in particular was so special. Also - the views are beautiful and the decor is very tasteful yet full of personality. Highly recommend - go and you won’t regret it!

So we have been here once before and decided to stop by - we tried to eat and drink at Greyhawk but they were seriously understaffed so we left. Well, so was Canoe - but you know what? They all worked so hard to do the right thing - they acknowledged us and apologized for the delay - their chef was a no show and their regular bartender assumed chef duties. Their performance under pressure was impressive. Please go and show them support - they deserve it.

This is one of the cutest hole-in-the-wall type restaurants I’ve ever been to. The atmosphere is so cozy and unique, the server was amazing and very attentive to our needs, and the food was phenomenal! Highly recommend ☺️

Visiting the area, and this is the closest place to eat we could find. Went on a Thursday, about 530p, and we were one of two tables being served. Seemed like it was going to be great, our server (only one we saw) was great and very pleasant. Decor was fun. Was looking forward to chatting with her a bit. Shortly after we placed our order, a group of about 10 people came in, loud, obnoxious, like they were the only people there. The scampi w/linguini was “interesting”, not like any scampi I’ve had before. The hubs and I both had it, it was vinegary and so spicy I couldn’t eat mine (ate the shrimp and a few noodles), and the hubs didn’t finish his either. He had a glass of wine, I had water. After reaching a point where we just wanted to leave, and the server being so busy she couldn’t check on us, hubs went to the bar to pay, and it was $68!! Since we hadn’t been there before, we really didn’t know what to expect. Prices too high, dishes we had not good. And anyone in the restaurant/bar industry (I have) should know that Thursdays are the beginning of the weekend for a lot of people, and should have more than 1 server on staff!!! I hope that large, demanding group at least left her a good tip!!

This place was an absolute horrible experience !!! Had a party of 5-ordered our food typical burgers basically all they have-The waitress brought the credit card machine over-I paid- it printed a copy for me and one for her, as I was walking out she said my card was declined and did not go through-I showed her my receipt from her machine it said approved ! then the owner Ashley came and said it was refunded and we need you to pay for your meal $119.64-not only was this Embarrassing but she insisted I was wrong, So I called my credit card company on speaker with the owner present-They told her and confirmed It was approved and paid-She then Insisted the credit card company was in the wrong-So I left her my cell number and told her it might be your machine but my card was charged-So I left she then texts me and says I need you to come back and pay-So again I had to stop what I was doing call again on a 3 way call with her and my credit card company-She insists and tells them she is right and they are wrong-So after an hour goes by she calls and apologies and says next time your in we would like to offer you free dessert for you and your guests-So after 4 hours go by on the way Home we stop by and ask for our free dessert-She says you have to order a meal to get that-Long story short I felt like they were trying to get paid twice for my food and for the owner Ashley to talk about this whole ordeal in front of customers was totally out of line-food was basic- they do have a bird there not sure how that works with the health department and there bottle water had a bug in it and had to ask another waitress for refills-I will not be back-poor service ! and the Owner doing this to me Never-Zero patience for this waste of Time !!!

Had to wait over 2 hours for food to be served. Over 45 minutes to have someone ask for drink orders. Do not recommend. Need a good turn around in management. Ridiculous
