Food was amazing! I had Fettuccini Alfredo and my husband had the Italian Sampler, some of the best we've ever had. We enjoyed dinner on the patio overlooking Lake Lure.

Really wanted to love it. I was on a solo adventure to Lake Lure. Was greeted quickly by very friendly hostess, got a very nice table with a very nice view of the lake. My server, Lorraine, was very prompt and friendly, too. Here's what went wrong - ordered a shot of Cuervo Gold tequila, chilled. It was barely a shot, if that, and it was watered down. I took a sip, yep, really watered down. I did bring it to Lorraine's attention, saying I thought the manager should be told but that shot was watered down (see photo.) She said, well you ordered it chilled, I said yes but this liquor is watered down. (I've been drinking shots of chilled CG tequila for decades and that hardly even tasted of tequila) Waited to drink it, but no manger ever came over. I ordered the house specialty lasagna with a side salad (no croutons, dressing on the side.) Garlic rolls came out - they were good, lots of garlic (yum!) crispy outside soft inside and piping hot. Then salad came, dressing was on the side but there were croutons. Easy enough to take them off, no biggie. Took 2 bites and a server, not Lorraine, brought the lasagna out. I told her I'd hardly started the salad. She said, "You'll work through it" and just walked away. (Really?) For being a house specialty, the lasagna wasn't very impressive - lots (&lots!) of melted cheese on top, very little flavor, but a good size portion, took half home with me. Drank the tequila, because no manager ever came. Lorraine was an excellent server (except for the tequila incident) took care of me but didn't hover, to-go box and check brought in a timely manner. I was really taken aback by the charge of $8.50 for the watered shot of tequila. I can buy a 750ml bottle of CG at the ABC store for $15!! So, one star for the hostess, view and garlic rolls, two stars for Lorraine. Probably won't be back or recommending to friends.

Had an excellent time dining here with my wife On a recent weekend getaway. The view of the mountains was breath taking. I had the 12” pizza and my wife had the 12 ounce ribeye - both delicious. Our waitress was great as well. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Lake Lure area and I would come back here on our next trip up to WNC!

This is a nice place with beautiful scenery. Our waitress was fantastic. The pizza was great. Their garlic rolls are VERY dense not doughy so we were a little overeager when we ordered 12 (6 would have been fine lol). Definitely get sauce on the side… so good. Their spinach crab dip was heavy on cream cheese and very light on spinach and crab (almost non-existent). It was meh but the waitress was nice and got a replacement to go because it had such little crab in it the first time. The prices were reasonable except their dessert was more than Cheesecake Factory (yikes).

La Strada is a must visit if you are in the Lake Lure area. I used to love talking it up with Stan back in the day at the Pineville, NC location. I know he's still preparing wonderful dishes for the big Guy upstairs! While I do miss the baseball picks, the Lake Lure location is beautiful and has a great outdoor area to watch the beach. My go to was and always will be the Lasagna with a few dozen garlic knots. Keep up the good food, here's to another fifty years for Zeppo!
