Very good food stayed open later than most places up there. And was reasonable priced. We had 6 people was only 50$ and had left overs for next day.Vegetarian options: Lots of veggies options and sushi rolls.Kid-friendliness: Had options for the kids too. Chicken nuggets and fries glad it wasn't all Japanese for the kids.
Stopped here because it looked inviting and the wife wanted some sushi. When we walked in it screamed "Leave Now" but we ordered anyway. The attendant was friendly and patiently waited for us to decide on our order. The menu was typical Japanese fare and so we ordered our typical favorites which are Teriyaki Steak and Chicken plus a "Japan House Roll". While waiting on our order I observed the place a bit more. It was rundown and poorly managed inside and it smelled of Durian and sewage. If you don't know what Durian is and have never smelled it Andrew Zimmern of "Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern" describes it as so pungent that it permeates the inch-thick husk. The sewage smell could be a welcome alternative to that fruit! But here we had both! Smell aside, the place was dirty looking and unkept. We found a seat in the back far away from the Durian and sewage. The seats were ripped open in the booth but I didn't mind so much sitting on it so my wife didn't have to. The food came after ten minutes or so. The small Styrofoam plate the food sat on was almost buckling under the weight of the food. So, there was plenty of food but don't pick up the plate one handed lest you find your dinner on the floor. The Sushi roll, the whole reason we decided on this place, was cut up and stacked on a tinier version of the plate that was used for the entrées. There was no small bowl for soy sauce so we ended up just pouring small amounts on each individual bite before consumption. The roll itself was barely edible so we didn't even finish it. The Teriyaki Steak was actually really good! However, the chicken wasn't thoroughly cooked through so it had that sort of crunchy interior that you know you're eating raw so that was put aside. Maybe if this place was teaming with people and orders were behind then MAYBE this could be somewhat excusable if it happened once but we were literally the only people in the restraunt. I think now I know why. I bet the locals avoid this place. It's almost sad to see a business so disheveled.

The experience was really disappointing. We ordered three different kind of chicken items (Hibachi Chicken, Chicken fried rice and Chicken/Shrimp/Scallop house special). The funny thing is that they were all the same fried chicken but with different levels of some sweet soy sauce. The most absurd thing was that the Hibachi was not spicy at all. Definitely not recommend.

Food and value were very good. Service is order at the counter from employee who seems like they don't want to be disturbed. With the quality of the food the service and atmosphere are disappointing.

Very good food. Walked to it after spending time at Lake Lure. The place does not look nice but don’t be fooled.

The food was fast food take out or eat in with plastic utensils and chop sticks on foam plates but the food was plentiful and tasty with fair prices. Pleasant interior and seating across from beach. The menu had many items and being born in Japan, it had the authentic flavor. We will be back with our kids next time.
Great place to get lunch and dinner after a day at the beach at lake lure!

I can’t believe I’m saying this but this is some of the best Japanese food I’ve ever had! I was so pleasantly surprised. Staff was great, food was amazing! I was not expecting Japanese food this good so far in the middle of nowhere! Stop by you won’t be disappointed!
