We stopped in for a night cap.Late night amd there was a wedding going on so there were not many people in the bar. Our bartender was great and made a delicious long island. We chatted with him and the other bartender about bourbon and moonshine and weddings and the shark sightin at Lake Lure earlier that must have occurred why else would they shut the beach at 6??? Ha haGreat time

Absolutely ashamed of this place. The staff turned their noses up at us and then stated we are booked for the night. Next time hide the reservation list that had 1 reservation for a small party. Judging a family based on their vacation wear or maybe ethnicity is shameful then the staff stared us down as we admired the dirty dancing picture as it was the only reason we wanted to eat there. Happily left and gave our business to another establishment whom treated us kindly. Small town vibe completely shattered here. Patrick would roll over in his grave at the behavior exhibited here. This was the first and last time we will ever vacation in such an unwelcoming town. We will stick to places who treat people with kindness and respect! FYI clothing doesn’t mean money and treating it that way you will find those who worked for there money don’t flash it learn some manners and teach your associates that discrimination is not becoming or you will continue to look even move run down as the years pass because for a place that wants to be high class it’s kinda disappointing that the upkeep is highly lacking.

our party hung out here nearly every night, and the staff is fantastic, Margaret is hard working woman, and very nice.

Margaret is always a hoot. I love how she seems to always remember the faces she sees, even if you've only been there once!

Cool locals bar and restaurant. Good light and great place to watch people. Good ambiance. We were married at the Inn in Feb. 2020, we really enjoyed this bar as a meeting point.

The Go To Place. Great friends, suburb food and an incredible list of brews and wines. Perfect, always.

I enjoyed myself. I had two strawberry margaritas. The only thing I didn't like is that their were no football games on tv.

When traveling on vacation it's always a bonus when you can meet up with friends 513 miles from home especially when it's in a setting as cool as the Moose & Goose Lounge located inside the Lake Lure 1927 Hotel. Finding seats at the bar for six is no easy task on a Friday night so whether the stars aligned or knowing Margaret the always friendly and sometimes professional bartender was the reason for it, it was the perfect place to enjoy a few amazing cocktails and a snack after driving the better half of the day. The lounge is easily accessible from the porch or the lobby of the hotel, I won't say it's small but it is cozy. There's an oddly shaped bar along the back wall and a few tables window side otherwise it's standing room only. Margaret runs the show and if you're looking for a little harmless bantering then she'll give you all you want, she'll also pour you legendary cocktails that will have you wanting just one more no matter how long you stay. After finishing my go to summertime drink Redbull & Tito's while the sun set behind the mountains it was time to test the bartender's skill set - nothing's better than a barely dirty Ketel One martini shaken cold, up with a few cheese stuffed olives, well she quickly corrected my description of a cocktail that I've been consuming for decades - I guess the correct term is a slutty martini verses the barely dirty terminology. I may have deserved that since I did ask her if she knew how to make a great martini (see attached photo) I think the photo proved she's made a few and the taste validated any doubt I may have had - it was delicious. There's lots to do in Lake Lure although it may appear otherwise, but one should experience this place if possible...

My friend and I went to the Lake Lure Inn to walk around. We wandered into the Moose & Goose and stayed way longer than we intended. Great bar great service (Michael) and other staff but most of all, Baby Watermelon Mojito, OMG! Best drink ever?

Two girlfriends and I stayed at the Inn the weekend of June 8th for a girls weekend. Margaret the bartender is amazing. She was engaging, friendly, had good drink recommendations, and made an AMAZING Old Fashioned. I can't say enough good things about her.
