We took friends and had a table of eight mid week. The service and food were absolutely fantastic! Can you get fresh tuna and steak right now in the middle of the mountains? YUUUUUP! You can at the Highlands Reserve! Go! The price points match the food and are worth it! Kids meals are amazing and abundant portions. The kiddos even mentioned how fresh the fruit was (that never happens)! Gotta give this team major props for keeping it going! They need you to keep making this work! The beautiful woodwork on the bar and tables inside are stunning, and they’ve done everything they could in short order to get this place up and running. The best thing you can do is go there every time you are in town.
Found the restaurant under "Highland Preserve" in Google maps at a different address behind a gas station. They had more than one vegan option and were able to make adjustments to a few dishes to make them vegan. There was one "chik'n" breaded patty, which was the only vegan protein source, but could be subbed into a few dishes. There was some confusion about what restrictions vegans have, but everyone seemed nice and helpful in helping work out what we could eat from the menu.
Started off rocky but Server Jayden made it one of the best experiences. Food was great and sitting out back listening to the river made it so peaceful. 100% recommend
Beautiful view outside, tasty drinks. The drink pictured is a blueberry flavored lemon drop. 10/10 The bartender was new and our party left 4 was happy and satisfied. Our waitress was great. I had the prime rib sandwich- excellent. Love that the kiddos Mac and cheese comes in a cast iron, also probably some of the best Mac and cheese for kids I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
We also ordered the crispy chicken sandwich- could use a tasty sauce but overall good
We’re in town from Washington state and this is the best place we’ve been so far.

My husband and I came for our anniversary dinner after hearing good things about this place. I looked on their website to find photos of tables with tablecloths and descriptions of “fine wine and casual dining that’s perfect for an anniversary” etc. Suffice it to say that was not our experience.
Walking in, it was clearly more casual than we expected. It was noisy and more like a pub or dive bar than any kind of place I’d expect to have fine wine or an anniversary dinner. Definitely no tablecloths. Despite this, we stayed to give it a chance. We each ordered steaks, both of which were so poorly cooked we didn’t eat more than a few bites. Biting into mine, I was shocked to immediately realize that what I thought were capers on top of my filet were actually whole, unground peppercorns. Every bite I took was so peppery it made me choke. And that’s not to mention the fact that my rare steak was in fact so rare that it was still cold in the middle. My husband’s steak was a pallid shade of grayish brown that had no sear. Absolutely not what we expected for a $40+ steak. The sides were so unseasoned we were disappointed there too with no salt or pepper on the table.
I hate to say that the service was also not very good for us. We waited a while for someone to take our order and again for our food to come out. We waited so long for someone to take our check that we finally went up to the hostess stand so we could pay and leave. It was really a terrible experience on a special night for us.

Excellent dinner for a party of 4 on a Saturday evening. We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the river. Drinks were very good. Our entrees of salmon, pork chop and 2 orders of prime rib were all delicious. The balsamic glazed brussel sprouts w bacon were exceptional. Very good service. Best meal we have eaten in the area. Recommend - UPDATE, we returned to dine here again. The lamb chops were excellent!

Oh my goodness! Where do I start!? This is one of the best restaurants we’ve ever eaten at. It was our first year anniversary and Megan delivered a special setting and sitting for us that was beyond expectation! A beautiful table presentation and card signed by her entire fantastic staff. I mean it when I say it was beyond expectation. It was special for my wife and she was very happy with it all. The food, the service, the atmosphere, everything was top notch. Megan has created a peaceful place right on the flowing river and staffed her restaurant with genuinely professional and courteous people who without reservation attended to our every need. A special shoutout to our waiter Anthony. He was awesome and VERY knowledgeable about so many areas of the culinary field and wines and bourbon. I encourage anyone looking for a great restaurant to give Megan’s place a try. You will not regret it. We will be back! Hats off to you and your incredible staff Megan. Thank you for making our first anniversary special and memorable.

Welcoming staff & stunning patio by the river. We stopped here for brunch — mostly savory options— berry salad & waffle was yummy. Will eat here again when visiting chimney rock.

Fabulous service and location! My mother and I went this morning. We ordered the “scarlet rush” fresh juice and it was literally pickled beat juice. Not worth $8. Do not get the juice!
Good food and service. High prices.
