My husband and I visited the Lake Lure Inn & Spa and the Veranda for brunch during our honeymoon and it was absolutely wonderful! We enjoyed their brunch buffet that offered an array of choices, including made-to-order omelets, french toast, biscuits and gravy, a salad bar, and so many other choices. There was I plenty of coffee, freshly brewed, and we had a gorgeous view of Lake Lure and the surrounding mountains. We had the most incredible time and we will most definitely be coming back!

Celebrated our 57th anniversary here for brunch and it was excellent. The quality of all the selections was top notch. You won't find a better deal for Sunday brunch and the drive there was beautiful on a spring day. We love the history here with all the photographs, and the views of the mountains are spectacular.

We are very disappointed in our experience regarding our Valentines Dinner. We had a 5 pm reservation and still do drinks at 5:45 pm. Thank God for our server, the owners should be ashamed help your people.

Very nice old inn and dining room. The food was excellent as was the service. The halibut main dish was expertly prepared although the portion was on the small side. The Tiramisu desert was the best!

The restaurant is beautiful! We were there for dinner on a Friday evening. It was not crowded at all. Our Server, Noah, was ok but I like Servers who are more attentive. We both had Lake Lure Burgers with shoe string fries with bacon and cheese. The food was delicious!

I was in town recently for the beautiful sunrise service at nearby Chimney Rock. Since the next day was my birthday, I decided to treat myself to bruch at the Lake Lure Inn. I arrived promptly for my 11 AM reservations. Good thing I had reservation, as there was a line of people hoping to get in. If you're planning on coming for one of their big brunches such as Easter or Mother's Day, make reservations! I had made reservations for the patio. I had the perfect spot. The patio overlooks the swimming pool and Lake Lure. Just unfortunately, the lake had been drained to make repairs. I had no idea you repaired a lake! This was buffet brunch, and everything was beautifully set up. They had several carving stations. A cake table was set up. They had a chocolate fountain!!! First pass around I had breakfast. I had eggs, bacon, and gravy and biscuits. Next, I moved on to the carving station. I had roast beef, corn, Mac and cheese, taters and a roll. To top it off, I had chocolate cake and a few things that I put through the chocolate fountain. The hotel itself is incredible. It was built in 1927 and maintainers a beautiful art deco feel. While filming Dirty Dancing, many of the cast stayed here. You can choose to stay in the Swayze suit or Jennifer Gray room! The service and food were incredible. It is a bit of a splurge. The buffet alone was $50, and drinks are not included. That was another $7.50. But it was my birthday present to myself. And since next year I'll be 60, I may even treat myself to a stay here!!

Service and food was terrible. Waited 30 mins for a bottle of wine. Tasted like over-priced hospital food.

We are here visiting for vacation at dined for Sunday brunch. We’ve been here before for dinner but never for brunch. For anyone stating the brunch is not good they are probably used to a buffet with powered eggs and boxed grits. That is NOT this brunch. The brunch is very distinguished with foods that are flavorful and cooked properly for individuals who are used to eating Chef prepared foods. The prime rib was delicious and cooked perfectly for how prime rib should be eaten. The flavor was delicious!!! The peppercorn used to flavor the prime rib had the best taste. The omelets were cooked to order and although I did not eat one I did watch them getting made and they looked delicious! They are cooked to order so if you like your eggs less or more done you can let the attendant know. The fried haddock was perfectly battered - not too much not too little. The fish was delicate and savory. The cheese grits were homemade and were delicious!!! They definitely have a different flavor than boxed grits, so if you have never had real, slow cooked grits then get ready to have a mouth explosion. Real grits are the only way to eat grits! I had green beans with my meal… loads of green beans. They tasted just like my grandma’s. Unless you’ve had a grandma-cook homemade green bean from the garden you won’t understand. The flavor is savory and leaves your wanting more. I can’t recall a restaurant where I’ve ate vegetables that leave me feeling like this. The Veranda knows how to do it!! My husband and I finished off our multiple plates by sharing the peach cobbler. It was great!! The peaches were soft but not mushy, the desert was sweet but not too sweet, the crust gave the soft peaches the perfect crunch without overpowering the peach. It was delicious and exactly how grandma’s peach cobbler should be made. The staff was amazing. They were busy - as they should be - but I never felt unattended or rushed. I was given proper time to enjoy my food and the table conversation between having my dirty plate removed and my water refilled. I ordered mimosas and my husband had a Bloody Mary. These drinks were poured perfectly. They are not shy on their pour and we appreciated that very much! This meal it not supposed to be fast, quick, in/out like most commercial buffets. This is a food experience. Slow down. Enjoy the experience, the atmosphere, taste the flavors while chewing your food. You won’t be disappointed.

We arrived at 11:45 for the Sunday brunch because it had bee ranked highly online. There were 11 in our party. Non-alcoholic drinks ate $2.50. The buffet is $25 per person and it is reasonable if you enjoy rare roast beef and omelets. There were only two vegetables, okra and baked beans, other than the tossed, broccoli and artichoke salads. It is hard to make cheeses grits non-tasty, but these were. The sausage gravy had no taste at all. If you enjoy your roast beef medium well, you were out of luck. Most pieces barely saw the oven. Desserts- banana pudding without bananas or vanilla wafers. Appeared as mush. Dray and tasteless cake, and 2/10 peach cobbler definitely with canned peaches.

Brunch was fantastic in this beautiful setting. Delicious food at a reasonable price. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. The weak link was the rest of the staff, rude. The women greeters kept disappearing without a word. The ladies room was “out of order “. You were directed to another one downstairs. You had to go into the hotel’s laundry area to get there. It was a changing room with one toilet, a shower and a jacuzzi with some dead bugs. I would go here again, but hopefully the ladies room will be in working order.

We ate here one night and had a great meal. The steak was very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The drunks were made well and our waiter, Patrick I believe was his name, did an amazing job.

stay away.....there are so many other nice places to eat in Lake Lure... served us rotten shrimp cocktail...the smell was awful and the shrimp was slimy...waiter seemed uninterested and very disengaging..received a plate full of carrots from a bag as I guess that was their vegetable of the day...such a "classy" place! NOT!!!

A really convenient place to dine while staying at the Inn and Spa. Casual dress is OK and reservations are needed . Quiet atmosphere and a pleasant staff. Food is well prepared and portions are adequate.
