Golden Run Restaurant

I don't believe I have ever left a bad review, but I want to warn others. I travel extensively for work, and this was absolutely the worst meal I have had in recent memory. The selection was limited as is expected from a small buffet, but not a single tray was full. None of the warmers were working properly so most of the food was cold and we (2 of us) left hungry and in search of food. When this was mentioned to the staff they just stared at us while popping their gum.

Please don't waste your time and money.

The food is always so good here. It's always fresh and just cook to perfection. I gto laurinburg just to eat there. The service is excellent you never have to wait for something that you need and the atmosphere is excellent as well and I think that's because the food is so good. Everyone is just happy and greeting each other.

Great food great service. I ate there 2 to 3 times a week and the food is always hot and very good. Anyone that likes Chinese food I recommend this place highly I’ll give it a five star any day.

It was very easy. We walked in and were seated immediately. The service was great . Took our order and stayed back until we needed something. The waitress didn't hover over us or continuously bother us while we ate everything was good. Food was hot and on time. The only problem which wasn't really a problem was when we paid the check it was almost $20 a person for the buffet. We didn't really have

this place is the worst food place ive wver been to me and friends were overcharging 20 dollars for the meal that on the sign charger 10 then asked why they said because the drink like how when we got home we all were forcefully throwing up i do not recommend

Golden 168 in Laurinburg is a pretty plain Chinese buffet. The price is affordable, but that’s about the biggest positive. The food itself is lacking in flavor compared to other Chinese restaurants I’ve tried. The fried rice had no vegetables in it—just a few mushrooms, broccoli, and some green beans on the bar. Nothing special stood out.

The worst part was that I actually found a piece of steel wool in my General Tso’s chicken. That was a deal-breaker for me. Some people might still enjoy it since it’s inexpensive, but personally, I wouldn’t recommend it.

I love the food but me and my mom don't really eat until about 8 at night so was gonna get a to go plate they charged way more because I didn't eat the buffet too

I rate this a 4 out of 5 across the board. I went today which is Saturday 6/7/25 at around 1:30pm and got a large buffet take out for a flat rate of $12.95. I believe the small was $9.95 not sure what size that is but the large is about the standard styrofoam container that we all know and love with the 2 half size compartments and one full size. The buffet is a little small but has a variety of dishes. I didn't care for the sesame chicken because it was dry as were the chicken dumplings and wonton dumplings but your mileage may vary. The other food was pretty good. Can't speak much for service as I didn't interact with any employees except for the cashier who was pleasant. The restaurant was clean. I can't help but compare it to my local chinese buffet restaurant Peking Wok which I prefer. I think Peking wok offers tastier and slightly better quality options although I do like Golden Run's chicken wings more. I just love Peking Wok's coconut shrimp, Baked imitation crab and cheese and red chicken teriyaki skewers which I didn't see at Golden Run. I think Golden Run is a few dollars cheaper. Oh and the sweet tea was good but too sweet.
