Me and some friends happened upon this place while camping in the area. We stopped in and ate dinner and the food was very good! The waitress,(Stacee) I believe was her name, was awesome! She was very friendly and had a great personality! Overall we had a great experience here and will definitely stop in again in the future. Recommended!

We found this place while looking for lunch our way to linville falls. There was no phone network, saw this place and went in with no expectations. Pleasantly surprised. Even though they seemed like a small operation with few folks multitasking & doing it all, we were attended to the moment we walked in & were served with 15 mins. Food was great & prices were extremely reasonable, especially considering the what restaurants charge in most touristy places. Service was great. The homemade pies were awesome. Highly recommended !

The winding Blue Ridge Parkway can unwind that hankering in your gut for some good old fashioned home cooking, and this place exists to scratch that itch something mighty. This cool little house made of rock is also made with meatloaf and pot roast and spackled with brown gravy. Around since 1936, this place is on the national historic registry, and probably has been destroying appetites with slices of pie ever since. Even the prices are from a long ago era. We ate and ate until our stomachs felt like rocks. Don't pass on the pie. Here, or in life in general.Kid-friendliness: Good variety on the kids menu with enough fries to pay the Dad tax.

At the intersection of 183 and US 221 North in Linville Falls lies one of the best home cooking restaurants in the High Country. This unique rock building has been around for decades. They offer many daily specials from scratch including pot roast, country style steak, or fried flounder plates, sandwiches and burgers. The biscuits are made from scratch just like Grandma used to make and are incredibly thick and fluffy. Wonderful desserts include the strawberry rhubarb pie which you can't find very many places these days. Please visit this local gem the next time you come to the High Country.

It had a hometown feel. I ate in one county and paid in another. I felt like I walked a mile to this place.

The food was great and the prices near unbeatable. We got a cheeseburger and bbq plate with sides for about $20. The sweet potato fries and hush puppies were especially delicious - crisp, fresh, and not overly sweet. Service was prompt and friendly. Would def visit again!

We drive over an hour to eat here about every other week. During the summer we eat there every weekend as our camper is at Mountain Paradise. Not only is the food great, but so is the Customer Service. Hats off to the cooking staff as well. We have never had to send our food back. From breakfast to lunch to plate meals, you will not find a better place to eat!!

Make sure you get the pie - even if you get it to go because you're so stuffed from the huge plates of food they bring out. The pie has this amazing flaky buttery crust that almost melts in your mouth.
