My sister had the pork shanks and I had clam pasta with cream sauce. I also had a different twist on a Caesar called a hot Caesar. The bottle of wine we shared was also delicious. The service was great going back again day after tomorrow.

We came in for the guest chef experience with Matt Rivers and the food was phenomenal. Outstanding service hitting every mark of a fine dining experience and a team that really seemed to work well together. Overall we couldn't be more happy with the experience.

Great Raw Bar! Appetizers and Main selections were excellent. Cocktails and wine selections by glass and bottle were top notch. Service was detailed and space is cozy. This was our favorite dining experience over a long weekend in the area.

The appetizers we had were just ok. We had ordered the oysters and they were very small, so that felt like a very overpriced appetizer that was very satisfying. Because one of the oysters was extraordinarily small, they did send two additional oysters to our table so that helped the blow. The other appetizer we had was a sashimi, and it was pretty good but not super flavorful. The entrée we had was the special fish of the day and it was excellent.

Another great evening with my wife at Reid's. Great food, great atmosphere, great service.

The food was very good. The pork chop was perfectly cooked. The pasta bolognese was one of the best we have had. It was lighter than most but very flavorful. The scallops were a bit too charred outside and a little more raw inside than preferred. The cocktails were creative and overall a very enjoyable experience. We will definitely go again.

When dinner costs $185 for 2 of us (with tip), we expect a few things: bread for the table; an array of options to order; fantastic service. We received none of those. There are 3 options for dinner each night. On Monday, there was a steak (hangar, $50); a fish (amberjack, $45), and pasta in a white sauce ($40). There were 3 appetizer choices...one had mascarpone, no thank you, and one was a pate, no thank you, so we ordered the Benne rolls and received 3 of them for $8. There were no salads available. There were 3 'vegetable' sides, 2 had mascarpone. Again, no thank you.
The hangar steak was quite excellent but the fish was just okay and the pasta was just okay, No excuse for everything not being top notch.
We were 2 couples, and at the start, we requested 2 checks, and she said she could split the bill. I said No, we do not want it split, we each want our own bill, as I knew the other couple would enjoy a bottle of wine between them. At the end of the meal she presented us with 1 check. When I reminded her that we wanted 2 checks, she asked who had the wine (maybe the couple who had the wine glasses?), etc. We will not be returning. Ever.

It's a small place tucked away in a strip mall, but the food is terrific. It is creative and tasty. We look forward to coming back again on our next trip.

Amazing food and service. A true dining experience. High quality, distinctive harmony, mastery of technique, consistently a step above. Between Reid's and The Beacon—my favorite restaurants in the High Country or anywhere.

Great hidden gem! ... A culinary delight, from craft cocktails to Local sourced fruits and exotic deserts! Lots of quality competition in this little town of Banner Elk/Beech Mountain, but one of the best options to consider in the area!

Reid’s Cafe is one of the finest restaurants on Sugar Mountain. My husband & I ate there nearly every night while we were in the area! Each night we would sit at the bar and enjoy conversation with Eddy the bartender- who by the way makes outstanding drinks! Every dish we had was amazing as you can see from the photo of my tuna on Tuesday night. Tuesdays we were told the menu was limited - if this is what limited looks like please serve me more! Reid’s is run by Tina who obviously loves what she does! She made us feel welcome & at home as did all of her employees!

Some interesting appetizers and entrees. Pheasant entre was a dud; pork chop was dry; pasta special and fragoie were excellent.
