I've been going here for over 18 years and the family that owns/runs it knows and remembers everyone. They treat every customer like family and they have hands down THE ABSOLUTE BEST half bbq chicken plate EVERY ANYWHERE. Their bbq sauce is to die for and I always buy a bottle when I'm in there. The chicken falls off the bone. When you try to pull it apart it literally falls off like butter and is so incredibly juicy. I've seen reviews about dry food and once in a blue moon they may have a new cook that doesn't really know there kitchen well and it can come out dry but just let them know and they'll replace it with fresh order without hesitation. There is no other restaurant around that gives each customer the personal attention and care that they do. They have a belief that every plate made is made as if it were for Jesus himself and they are not wrong. If you've read bad reviews it is very far and few between. It is definitely worth trying if you have not been there and is 1,000% worth the drive if you're kind of far away. They've been featured on WRAL out and about and have been there for a very long time for a reason. They are a staple of Littleton and are in my opinion the best barbecue anywhere and the hush puppies are incredible!!!

The food is very good, the service is a little slow depending on the day, but it is worth it. I love the plain chicken with salt and pepper.

Stopped by Grandpa’s Kitchen while passing through Littleton and wow—this place is a hidden gem. The BBQ had a little kick to it, which I loved—not too spicy, just enough heat to make it stand out from the usual. Full of flavor and smoked just right. And the hush puppies? Outstanding. Crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside—some of the best I’ve had anywhere. Friendly service and a laid-back, welcoming vibe. Definitely worth the stop

Unexpected delight in casual dining in a small NC town. BBQ chicken, tasty fries and wonderful hush puppies.
