Fantastic food. Large portions. Great prices. The owner is a wonderful person that truly cares about the food and his employees. Our new spot to hit while in the area. All our meals have been great and seeing the other meals come out look delicious. Has a nice bar and you can see the cooks cooking.

We came to Lake Gaston for a tournament last fall and we stopped here for breakfast. The food and service were great with good portions for a hearty meal before we launched the boat for a chilly practice day. This was on a Wednesday and I guess they were open in the morning then. I'm disappointed they are only opening at noon on Wed. now. I'll miss breakfast this year I suppose.

Finally got the chance to stop in and give it a try. I had the meatloaf and was absolutely delicious. A buddy of mine got a hamburger and it was well was great! The service was outstanding! I will definitely be becoming a regular when I am at the lake! Give it a shot for yourself!

In an area that has minimal decent restaurants, gus' diner is an oasis. Good food, good prices, friendly staff. Highly recommend.
First time coming here and the service and food was absolutely amazing! Will be coming back to try the rest of the Greek food ! Staff was super attentive and very friendly .

June 2024 our first visit to Gus's Diner. We will probably not be returning. It was my husband, myself and two grandkids. We ordered the chicken finger basket for myself and grandkids and my husband ordered the bacon cheese burger. We got the chicken finger basket about 20 minutes later but not the burger. My grandkids and I had just about finished our meal and my husband still hadn't received his burger. He decided at that point that we just wanted a refund on the burger and taken off the bill. He went to the manager, I think. She was upset and wanted to give him the order to go. He said no because we live 30 minutes away and we think his order had been sitting there for awhile. We realize mistakes happen and just wanted it made right. They ended up taking the burger off the bill and we paid for the chicken but they were upset at us and we got no apologies at all. We also had to ask for silverware and napkins and there were flies all over and dead ones in the window sill. We don't expect perfection, but at least an apology.

This was our first visit to Gus’s. The pork chops and onion rings were very good, but VERY salty (and I like salt)!!! Hoping this was just an oops with the salt in the batter and will give them another chance to change our opinion.

I was disappointed with barbecue. Very tough, heated too long. My friend got chicken tenders and looked like for 2 people. Hers looked great. Mine another story. My other friend got french fries and slaw with her barbecue and I didn’t. I only got slaw. ???
