We’ve always enjoyed coming here, but our recent visit was incredibly disappointing. Our party of 11 (including 3 children) arrived at 5:00, and it took 20 minutes just to get drinks and nearly 50 minutes before anyone took our order—and that was only after asking three times. The restaurant wasn’t busy, and we were the only large group there, so there was really no excuse for such a delay. When our salads arrived, 3 out of 5 were wrong, and one took another 15 minutes to correct. Our waitress never checked on us after taking our order—no refills, no condiments, no follow-up to ask how the food was. When the meals finally came, every steak was cooked incorrectly—some overdone, one undercooked—and we still didn’t have basic items like steak sauce or ketchup. We finally had to call out to her across the room to get refills and condiments. Throughout dinner, our table was never cleared, so we ended up bussing our own dishes just to make space. For a $220 bill (not including my parents bill also) the food, service, and overall experience were far below expectations. We’ve been regulars for a long time, but it’s clear things have gone downhill. When our waitress greeted my parents, she even said, “Long time no see—it’s been a while, sweet tea right?” That should’ve been an indicator—there’s a reason they hadn’t been regulars in a while. We don’t mind paying for good food and good service—but this was definitely not it.
My mom dined here with others, and I asked her to bring me a to-go order back to Raleigh. I had the pick 3 seafood entrée with salmon, scallops, and shrimp, along with a baked potato and green beans. The seafood was great--not overly seasoned, just perfect. The sides were okay; the baked potato was a bit dry and extremely overcooked, but the Texas toast was pretty good. Overall, I'd recommend Johnny Bull's if you're in the area--it's solid with good options. My mom, who's pretty picky, loved everything. She had the grilled pork chops, mac and cheese, and green beans. The baked potato wasn't not the best quality seems to have been overcooked and due to this I can't rate the overall rating over 3*.

Not really great all around. Food was ok, not great but not totally bad. Salads were good but steaks were unimpressive. Service was good. Biggest issue is the place overall is low-level dirty. Flies throughout, tables were bare min wiped but plenty of small debris around.
Parking: Lot across the flstrert for overflow, their lot isn't big enough for peak.

The food is always cooked to perfection and well seasoned. This is a must have if you’re just passing through town. Most requested by my personal company. Take out is usually in and out pretty fast just make sure you have all you ordered and need before you leave. I like to get my salad in a to go box bc you get more. There is an older white lady that is really rude and should not be working there but I reckon they put her in the back somewhere bc I hardly see her thankfully. She is one of the only reason they don’t get a 5 for me and if your not white, you may feel a tad bit uncomfortable like most of the restaurants here in Louisburg but once you give them a chance it’ll be worth the ice breaker. Most of the staff are warm and provide the southern hospitality Experience.
I usually get the seafood trio or steak with a salad ,loaded baked potato with a shrimp skewer. Don’t forget the dill mayo it is chefs kiss try it on Everything. (Exp seafood or stake ect.)

Food is usually good but my last trip there I had prime rib that was so tough it was hard to chew. Very disappointed because a meal for two that cost $100 with the tip should of been amazing. My wife's prime rib was just as bad. We were both very disappointed.
Kid-friendliness: Yes, my 3 year old grand daughter is always with us. It's usually a family thing.

If you have a preference on how you want your steak cooked, check it as soon as it’s brought. Have had to send back in multiple visits.

I guess there are 2 cheats to afford a real phone line. Every time you call what's always busy. This voicemail box is not accepting voicemails. Get a real phone line, you're losing business.
We had lunch specials for a Monday, excellent food and service, highly reccomend!

our visit was to Celebrate Valentine's day and my new job, However we will not return, My mom ordered fried pork chop, my self and my boyfriend ordered a rib eye, both well done, they brought my mom a grilled pork chop, Not what she ordered, my mom doesn't eat grilled food at all, My boyfriend's rib eye was 16 oz well done, it came out, not well done so our waitress takes it back, they bring it out 2nd time, still not well done, just put on another plate and yes you see the red on the plate, So it goes back again, Then they bring out another steak and yes well done but now the steak is way smaller, We ask to speak to a manager and low and behold our waitress was the manager on duty, we complained and told her we were not satisfied with the service, She stated that she made it right by getting my mother's fried pork chops and after 3 times bringing a well done steak for my boyfriend, but smaller than what he originally ordered, We asked for the check, They never showed any concern or compassion for their short comings, We waited for the check, Finally I just told my boyfriend to let's get up and wait at the check out for our check, as I got up, She then handed me the check in their little Black case, We walked straight over and handed it to the cashier, She just cut her eyes at me, I had my card out ready to pay , I asked her how much it was and she starts mumbling about the Customers, After paying $86 for all of that, Nope will not go back but do expect my money back when Johnny King learns of this

Disappointed that they're still using COVID policies and not allowing customers to prepare their own salads at the salad bar.

Food was good, service was good and fast enough, I just had no idea of how crowded they get and that trying to find parking would be a beast! Overall though a good atmosphere for a down home country style restaurant.

Deplorable response from the manager of Johnny Bulls, this evening, 1/7/25, regarding an appetizer, that we didn’t care for (the
pickle chips). The manager wanted to argue with us regarding why we didn’t like it. Needless to say we will never return.

We arrived checked in, told it would be 30 minutes. It was over an hour and people who came in after we did got seated before us. Also after we watched people walk in before us time and time again, twice we went to the hostess and given the same answer. After another 15 minutes we went in and ask couldn't they move a table around to suit us. Ding , ding, the lights finally came on. The waitress was slower than I would have liked at addressing us and getting our drink order. She finally came and took our order. We sat their between 30-40 minutes waiting for our food. FOOD...where shall I begin? My husband ordered a 1/4lb cheeseburger with different items he wanted on it. First it was no way close to a 1/4lb burger and only had cheese on it. It was over cooked, no mustard, ketchup, onions, nothing but cheese. He said he would go to McDonald's and get a better burger next time. My son order a med ribeye. It came out pale and less than a 1/4" thick. My daughter -in-law ordered a 6 oz sirloin w/ff"s. The sirloin was supposed to be med. She received a glob of what was supposed to be steak-med, but was rare on the inside and so tough you couldn't even cut it. My steak was the same as my daughter-in-law's, was supposed to be a 6 oz. It also was a glob of meat that was supposed to be medium, but you couldn't cut, much less having the ability to chew it. We paid for the food and drink we managed to consume. I hope no one asked me any time soon if I would recommend Johnny Bull's for a good meal!!!! Oh I forgot they even got my salad wrong even after having a sheet with my name and items wanted checked. Why am I surprised.
