“Whenever I make a trip back to NC, I always make a point to visit Tiano's - I love their eggplant parm. I was there recently to see family and not only I made a point to visit Tiano's from Colorado, my niece from Burlington did, as well as other family in town from Georgia and New York. Consistent quality across visits. Great family location. Family faves are eggplant parm, strombolis, any sub, and the pizzas. Highly Recommend!”

“After a long day on the road as a family of six, we stopped by El Puente at 9 PM, grateful to find a place still open in Madison, NC. Despite the late hour, we were greeted with a warm smile, and the restaurant was spotless. The waiter was incredibly patient, even when our restless kids bombarded him with questions and had a few spills. His excellent service made our experience truly enjoyable. Now, the food—wow! By far the best Mexican cuisine we've had across North Carolina, and we've tried many places from the Outer Banks to Asheboro, Raleigh, and Greensboro. El Puente stands out as the top choice for delicious, authentic Mexican food. Highly recommend! We definitely will be back!”

“Usually I prefer other types of Asian food over Chinese food because Chinese food, no matter what dish I ordered, often would make me feel miserable afterwards. With Golden Dragon though, so far we've eaten their food (take-out) twice and I've not felt miserable at all. I ordered the Chicken and Chinese Vegetables with an order of Vegetable Fried Rice both times and it was consistently delicious. All of the vegetables tasted fresh. My husband ordered Orange Chicken the first time and General Tsos Chicken the second. Both meals were excellent. Had the perfect amount of spice. They also make some sauces in house. I ordered the white sauce and my husband ordered the spicy mustard. Their white sauce is VERY good. The spicy mustard is made with horseradish and it packs a punch. Be warned! I am thrilled to finally have a Chinese restaurant in our rotation that I really enjoy the food. Especially since Chinese food is my husband's favorite Asian cuisine. They also offer a food bar that you can dine-in or take-out. They will provide you with a Styrofoam container to fill and weigh it. We've not tried the bar yet but will on our next visit. The staff are very friendly and will answer any questions you have about what you're ordering. They'll even make your order without MSG, if requested. This does not apply to the bar. Love the atmosphere from the decorative tiles on the ceiling, the ornate light fixtures, etched glass at the entrance, the giant fish tank with gold fish, the large decorative fans on the walls, and all the live plants. It has a very welcoming ambiance. This is now my favorite Chinese restaurant and will be our go-to hence forth. Highly recommend!”

“If you’re looking for a winery experience that’s equal parts charming, confusing, and mildly feral—look no further than Stonefield Cellars. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a gang of chickens that were clearly going through an identity crisis. With their suspiciously featherless necks and judgmental stares, they strutted around like buzzards on vacation. I’m not saying they were plotting something, but I did hear one cluck in Morse code.

The grounds had what I’d call a rustic chaos—think “secret garden” but if the gardener was legally blind and using a weed whacker as a cane. There’s an ambiance of wild freedom here, like nature just gave up halfway and decided to let it ride.

Enter Cooper: the feline face of the operation. He’s friendly, fluffy, and the kind of cat that insists on being involved in every single moment of your wine tasting. Pet me. Look at me. Talk to me. Honestly, Cooper has stronger customer service skills than half the people I’ve met in retail. He deserves his own tip jar.

Now to the wine—decent, though the prices made me question if I was buying the bottle or a small vineyard in France. And just when I thought I’d be sipping from elegant glassware, out came the plastic Chinet cups. Nothing says “bougie on a budget” quite like swirling a $12 wine in what looks like leftover wedding receptionware.

To pair with this upscale picnic experience? Cheese and crackers from a plastic container and a box. And I don’t mean a charming little charcuterie kit. No, I’m pretty sure I saw a staff member emerge from the back with a box of Ritz and a Target bag of cheddar cubes. We’re talking “aisle five, near the Lunchables” level cuisine.

But to be fair—the staff was absolutely lovely. Genuinely helpful, incredibly sweet, and totally committed to making sure you enjoy your stay…even if you’re dodging buzzard-chickens and chasing Cooper off every five minutes.

Would I come back? Absolutely. But next time, I’m bringing my own wine glass, my gardening shears, and maybe a feather boa so the chickens stop trying to recruit me.”
