The mushroom and Swiss burger is good, as are the fries that come with it. Similar to what you can get for several dollars less at Hardee's, except for the atmosphere and table service, which were both great at Big Al's.

Its not bad. Its just not as good as i hoped. The service was good we had are food about 20 mins after we ordered it. It all just tasted a little frozen. But the milk shakes are a must.

Big Al's is a regular stop on our visits to the Outer Banks area. This time, as usual, the food and service was good. We really enjoyed the Chicken Soup. But, if you have a concern regarding Covid and safety, you may want to pass Big Al's by until Covid is done. The young hostess, seating guests, never wore a mask, she walked through the restaurant numerous times and obviously this was "ok" because she spoke with many other staff and never was she advised to put on a mask. We never saw a manager or management type individual and this hostess without a mask was witnessed making a milkshake without proper face coverage.

I got the bbq bacon burger and it was really good.However, I wasn't a fan of the bbq sauce. It was good without it. Their onion rings were good good too compared to other places.

Large menu so everyone should be able to find something to their taste. We ate there twice. The food was good both times and the prices good. The servers both times were friendly and efficient.

Our waitress and others in the place weren’t properly wearing masks. Our waitress held our tray of food by her face while her nose was exposed. She breathed all over our food before serving it to us. So gross. I don’t want to even think about what is happening behind close doors if this is how they present themselves to the public. Had to just leave. I couldn’t force myself to eat the contaminated food.

The food here is very good and the decor is right out of the 50s! This is a great change of pace from the other local restaurants. A real throwback to a bygone era! The burgers are top notch but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Give this place a try when you are on the OBX.
