The little downtown area of Manteo is very cozy, and a favorite spot to visit when we come to the outer banks. I finally got around to visiting the Tavern, and wasn't disappointed at all. The location is gorgeous, right next to the Manteo lighthouse and boardwalk on the Sound. The restaurant definitely has the Irish Pub vibes upon entering. The wait staff were all friendly, and the food was awesome. The fish n chips were the best I've had anywhere to date. I really admired how they use whatever the local catch of the day is. Mine was Swordfish, which is a delicious dense fish that was perfect for fish n chips. Being a "beer guy", I also loved the 'Lost Colony Brewery' selections, particularly the Stout which was very reminiscent of Guinness Stout. The loaded chips were also delicious and very filling. Needless to say, I walked in, but waddled out lol. I'll definitely make it a point to come back when I visit the Outer Banks!

London Pub based on modern Lost Colony cuisine. Love it! Bar side pickled eggs, catch if the day fish and chips. I couldn't ask for more. Hotspot for my wife and I every time we are in town.

Located in a great location in downtown Manteo, this restaurant has a British style menu with excellent burgers and lots of drink options. The pub pretzel is huge! It's a bit crowded inside, but there is outdoor seating too. The staff are very friendly.

I had the fried fish sandwich. The flavor was OK, but honestly, the fish to bun ratio was a little lacking. The fries were really good. The tartar sauce was probably the best I’ve ever had. It was good on both the sandwich and for dipping the fries in. My dining companion had the bangers and mash, and that was excellent. I honestly wish I’d gotten that. The atmosphere was fun, and the wait staff very friendly.

We sat at the bar and had a great experience with Dusty! Learned that they have had new management as of almost 3 years ago. Shrimp are local and fresh, some of the best I have had at the coast! Hate we missed their Octoberfest celebration, will have to make it back next year.

Go here if you want to be ignored, terrible service! Will never try this place again even if it’s the only place in existence.

You’ll feel like garbage after eating here. Everything is fried, with fries.

Vegetarian options: No vegetables at all.

The experience was uneven. The lamb burger was excellent. The Shepard's pie was more like lamb vegetable soup with a mashed potato topping. The toffee bread pudding was closer to spice cake. It was delicious but not a bread pudding. The drinks were delcious.

Service was slow and it was quite loud.

We have never been to this place, but after many years of going to Manteo we decided to give it a try. There were 6 of us for dinner at 3pm on September 16th. The waiter was not good. He took all of our orders (or so we thought), came back a little bit later with one pub pretzel, but not the other one that our friend ordered (and never did bring it). When the meals finally came out, he didn't bring mine. Turns out he never put it in his computer, so I had to wait for my meal to be cooked while the rest of the party ate. When the checks came our friend was being charged for the pub pretzel that he never got. Then, when we were getting ready to leave, two people in our party asked for a to go cup for the rest of their iced tea. He said he would grab them and be right back. He never did come back. I hope whomever decides to give this place a try has better luck than we did. We will never be going back.

What a miserable experience. The burger, ordered medium, was raw and bloody, and the bun was soggy throughout. The bangers and mash were served cold. The service was mediocre in that you had to hunt the server down should you need anything. To top it off, flies were everywhere and we spent most of the meal swatting them off. Fries were ok but not great. Overall we found the atmosphere dirty, the service frustrating and the food disgusting. This place seems to survive as a tourist trap because of their visibility on the street. Do yourself a huge favor and cross the street to Poor Richard’s, the food is a 10 and the service is a pretty good 7.

A good experience. The American Wagyu Burger is a delicious burger. Everything from the bun, to the toppings were extremely fresh. Crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, onions, crunchy pickles. I expected a bigger patty but couldn't complain because of the taste and the fact that I was full when I left. Fries were great. The wait staff was friendly, nothing
went wrong, every need was catered to. Overall, loved it! 5 stars.
