Kelly & I, along with our friends visited the new Mebane location. Chef Brodsky and staff were fabulous. The appetizers were awesome: onion rings, fried peppers & loaded tater tots. Hot, fresh and loaded with flavor. The threesome could have been our meal. Appetizers were supported by an impressive groups of local brews & ales; great wine list and full bar service.
Our meals were well prepared with great presentation & flavor profile. I had catfish bowl with tasty veggie sweet potato bed. Kelly had the chili which looked enjoyable. Our friends enjoyed both the buffalo wrap & fig Brie burger.
Wonderful time and atmosphere for a nice price. We will definitely be back for more of the menu.
Called ahead to let them know that a party of 20 would be converging on their restaurant. I worked as a waitress for many years so I know I would appreciate the heads up. Was told that “they are super heros and they got it.”
Arrived and it took me standing there for several minutes then finally approaching someone before I was even acknowledged.
While I appreciate their confidence, they most certainly didn’t have it. It’s a cute LITTLE place, that the locals seem to love bc by the time we got there 30 mins later they were packed. I wish they would have told me when I called that they could not handle 20 people. Our party would have taken up the entire restaurant. Had I known that, we would have gone somewhere else and saved their time and ours. We love supporting local when we can (travel softball team), but looks like a chain restaurant tonight.

Absolute Gem! Would recommend for food and drinks. Chef did great job with menu, bartenders and servers worked together, everyone busting their butts and working together. Great staff, great menu, great food! German potato salad was on point. Only thing I don't like was no host, so grab a table when it's open, but hopefully don't jump in front of the people waiting. Everyone very nice about it though and it makes for good conversation. Place was very busy and deservedly so. I will be back!

I didn't know about the existence of this bar-restaurant. I just went to downtown Mebane to get to know the little, but pretty town. The street has different bars, but this one got my attention. Once you get in, you can admire the big bar full of bottles, and the walls covered with nice pictures. The selection of local and craft beers is really good. The food we tried was delicious. I will definitely come back!
We like to come for wing night and Michael is our absolute favorite. He definitely makes the experience so much better. Thank you!

My family and I love wooden nickel. We always have & still do. I particularly loved the Mebane location more because the music isn’t as loud so you can actually hear others at your table speak. With it being a smaller restaurant it’s going to be loud regardless but not having overly loud music was helpful. My one and only complaint for the Mebane & Hillsborough locations would be NOT having changing stations for my 22 month old. In my opinion it should be a requirement in ANY place of business. Moms and dads shouldn’t have to walk back to their vehicle to change a diaper.
