We went in today to have lunch. We stood at the counter for 10 minutes while the young woman just walked around and ignored us standing there. The entire time the cooks were all fussing at each other. We ended up just walking out and leaving. I would suggest taking you money else where.

Very good ribs and barbecue. Service is always friendly and efficient. Don't forget the banana pudding!
Small place with some really great food. My wife loved the pulled pork sandwich. I had a Chubby's Burger that is my new favorite. Anyplace that will toast the buns gets extra points from me! We'll definitely stop again.

This BBQ is excellent. The ribs are our favorite. Even though we love eastern NC BBQ, we are fans of all BBQ....especially Chubby's. The smoke on it is the real deal. The slaw is also outstanding! Don't hesitate to try Chubby's!

A bit of a mixed review.... the staff was amazing, the place was spotless, the food was ready in 10 minutes, and it was packed to go very nicely. The meat portions were HUGE. Unfortunately I'm just not a fan of most of the food I got. I ordered the combo rib/bbq plate with "fried" corn and baked beans as well as a chicken plate with the corn and green beans for my fiancee. I also got the peach "pie". I'm not a fan of thier bbq sauce at all. It was spicy with a smoky and vinegary flavor, but no sweetness and the ribs and bbq were drenched in it. The side portions were very small... they came in a 4oz ramakin. The beans were made with the same sauce and I'm not why they call it "fried" corn.... it's in a soupy butter sauce and not sweet at all, I guess I expected sometjing like a fritter?. The peach pie was a peach filled empanada with cinnamon suger... that was delicious. If I do go back I think I'll just get the meat unsauced and add my own. I was so disappointed that I didn't like it, I really wanted to!
I've got to be honest and say I wasn't crazy about the food. The menu is very limited and I felt the food was priced a little too high. Don't get me wrong. I realize the cost of everything has gone up and that's got to be passed along and a profit has to be made. The restaurant business is tough and their location is kinda off the beaten path. The hours are a bit crazy as well. They've done a ton of work to the building they are in as well as the place across the street that has been under construction. It all is definitely a better sight to see than what it used to be. I think if they'll expand the menu a little bit it'll help them continue to be around. With all of that said I am a southern female that's been raised on eastern NC BBQ and I'm partial to that style. I wish them all the best.

Worth the drive! I've been here several times, each time has been a great experience. Hearty portions of BBQ ribs and homemade slaw. This resturant is a cut above most others in the area. I worked in the resturant industry for 8 years and can recognize the pride and hard work put into the food here. It's good AND consistent, something you almost never find in the areas resturants.
