If you're looking for a great day trip outside of Charlotte, check out Rocky River vineyards in Midland NC. The grounds are beautiful, and It features many places for outdoor seating. There's a tasting room or you can purchase wine on the premises. In operation since 2007, the winemaker celebrates the local agriculture with a variety of whites that tend toward the sweet. There's also an unoaked Chardonnay as an alternative for a dryer palate.

Great wines (REALLY great wines) and good times! My to-go winery in the outskirts of the Charlotte area. Smooth reds and a couple sweeter wines, too. Something for every palette.
Weekends usually have an music event and a food truck! Perfect place to enjoy time with friends and family under the covered pavilion.
Just be careful Eetering and exiting the narrow driveway.
Four of us went for a tasting mid afternoon on a Sunday. There were 8 wines and 2 wine slushies on the tasting for $12 ($15 if you want to keep your glass). We really enjoyed it and decided to each have a glass of our favorite wine. We were able to enjoy it in the pavilion area where there were tables, ceiling fans over head, and live music. We had brought some snacks and we were able to enjoy them as well w our glasses of wine. Highly recommend!! ???
