Good lawd lemme tell you! If you've never been, RUN don't walk over there & throw yourself in a chair! We went last night for what was our 1st of many nights to come there. Only open Friday & Saturday 6-9 but I can see why! The food was made with more love than your mama, Jesus or God has ever bestowed upon you. Portions are ample, freshness abundant. I cried (literally). Listen I'm probably the only southerner who would ever say they hate Mac & cheese but somehow, I've been converted. That wasn't Mac & cheese. No. That was heaven. And that candies cabbage? If I don't get that when I go trick or treating, I'll be pissed because NOTHING compares. Best. Burnt. Ends. EVER! I don't know what they did to those popcorn shrimp but after eating one, I swear I saw the heavens open. I almost went towards the light. The ribs, the white beans, the coleslaw, the everything was friggin' amazing! And let's not forget about the owners & the staff! You weren't a customer. Nope. You were their FAMILY! They talked. They laughed. They shared stories. They invited you to other events. They spread news about the community to help you navigate. I've found my home. My people. I'll make the drive to see them, support them, eat their food & share their stories. You should to!

If you crave THE BEST home cooked country cooking done like Mama woulda done it? Look no further! Fried chicken, meatloaf, the creamiest mashed potatoes, peach cobbler……..and the cheesiest, saucy, mac & cheese I’ve ever had anywhere. If you knew how much Mac & Cheese I eat! That’s like winning the Oscar of Mac & Cheese. DO NOT miss the charming quaint piece of southern culture when you’re in this area.

I dunno. Maybe there are other places to eat around VIR - but I wouldn’t know as THE FOOD IS SO GOOD HERE that I never eat anywhere else! Why bother? Can’t get better than this. Absolutely charming southern classics flawlessly prepared. Pot pie, pot roast and creamy mashed potatoes, peach cobbler……..and hands down the best Mac and Cheese ever anywhere on the planet. I’d go every day just for that. Don’t miss this quaint homey spot when in the area.

You’re walking around this little town of 159 people and come across this street with quaint shops and food. You’re starving and desire a good ole home-cooked meal. Your eye catches this sign: Milltown Eatery & Saloon. You walk in and get greeted by a local crowd and Alex and Anthony, the co-owners. You want a place full of character and warm ambiance, then sit yourself down. We’ve eaten 6 meals here and everything has been delicious and truly reminds me of country cooking at its best: meatloaf, mashed potatoes, collard greens, fried chicken, pork chops, roasted carrots, and more. Their desserts were a big hit: my favorite is the peach cobbler while others raved about the oatmeal caramel apple cookie. I highly recommend this place and if you need catering, look no further than this eatery!

The food was consistently fresh, delicious, and well-prepared, with a great variety. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, making sure everything ran smoothly. Really special place with amazing food. Come for a good time, stay for the hospitality. They have a rotating menu you can review on Facebook based on how the owner is feeling, and it’s very much like watching an artist work. Highly recommend reservations for a special event or holiday or just get fast takeout. They care a lot, and it’s one of the only places you can get a good salad bar.
