They sell per pound. Which is ok but there are so many charged add ons like tofu , brown rice . And they they also weight the rice and we don’t have option on how much rice . It’s freaking weird. Also , very few sauce options. And the taste is not good at all.The vegetable choices are very less. Also , for sit down , they serve in styrofoam boxes .I don’t think I will ever go to this place ever again.

Bali-Hai Mongolian Grill, offers an outstanding dining experience. The build-your-own stir-fry concept is brilliant, with fresh ingredients and flavorful sauces. The portion sizes are generous, and the service is attentive and friendly. Highly recommended for a meal.

Low cost, choose your own style Mongolian food. Been a family staple for years and don't plan on stopping any time soon.

They were just randomly closed when their hours on their door and online said they were open. I drove over an hour from Greensboro to eat here and I was very disappointed to come all the way and see it closed.

We’ve been going to Bali Hai for 35 + years - since they were in the old Raleigh building that burned down. When we moved to Durham, we went to the one on 9th St - not quite the same ambience as the old place but the food was great. After Covid, everything changed. They started putting everything in take out containers and charging by the pound. This would be fine except they dumped a ton of rice in the container which drove the price WAY up. I don’t mind paying per lb for great food but I DO mind paying $10 or $12 (or whatever the going rate is) for .25 worth of rice. Come on, Bali Hai!After a couple of “We won’t do that again”s”, we stopped dining there altogether.

Delicious every time.
Favorite restaurant in the area. Most flavorful food around
Hadn't been to a Mongolian BBQ in a while, and was really hopeful about this one. Sadly, it disappointed. I asked for sweet and sour with just a little heat (scale: 2 of 10) and the dish was all heat. It's all I could taste. It came with fried rice, which was also disappointing-it was just rice and onion-nothing else, but had no flavor. Fortunately they had soy sauce.

Really good, but the one in North Raleigh is better.

Get a lot of food for the money if you pack the bowls. I took my dog and ate on the outside patio.

I miss the old days of pilling it up high in two bowls. Spicy 13 extra sauce for the win.
My husband used to eat lunch at the southern Raleigh location but has been missing out since getting a new job. We realized today that there is a new location in Morrisville, which is much closer to our home. Spoiler, it’s not EXACTLY the same, but we both loved our meals. When you enter, it’s a little confusing, but here’s the rundown for newcomers: grab a bowl (or three), load up on your favorite stir fry components, and drop it off for the chef to prepare. It may seem counter intuitive to get your meal going before sitting, but I think it’s to minimize your wait time. They have MANY sauce options, but I went with the spicy B6 (spice lvl 6). It didn’t blow my face off, maybe one step above mild. The food is served in takeaway packages with plastic cutlery. Nothing here is pretentious or assumed. But the TASTE and the PRICE are out of this world. Do yourself a favor and give it a try!
Great food! This was my first time eating at Bali-Hai, and I was pleasantly surprised. Loved the fact that there was an option for scallops, and they tasted great with the sauce and veggies! Also, the server was very friendly!
The food was great, but gone are the days of bowl stacking. They now charge by weight. What's worse, if you do not get rice, they charge $2 per pound more for your food. Not so good for diabetics or keto folks.
