Place was empty, tables were dirty, no beer or functioning fountain drink machine. The only guy working the place seemed like he was surprised we showed up but also wasn't very happy to see us. We left before he could bring us the water.

Take out | Lunch | $10–20
My order was incorrect. I called the restaurant to tell them and the gentleman did not believe me. I returned with the plate, dissected the dish in his face, he then told me I ate it.When I question if this is how they treat their customers he kinda lightened up. Stated it wasn't his fault. Got what I ordered and it was not edible. Whole plate in the trash! If you are looking for customer service, a good sanitation grade ,and good food do not come to this place. Wasted $14. Photo 1 was ordered I received. 2. Was the plate after. He gave me this big broken up thing... chicken had no flavor...THE TOTAL DISRESPECT!

I googled this restaurant because it was close to the rental car center. I went for shrimp tacos but they were out of shrimp and expecting a food truck delivery. I settled for fish tacos instead. I waited 10-15 minutes for a beautiful presentation COLD food which the server had the nerve to say ENJOY. The fish taco was a fried hard block of mystery meat. The menu listed black beans but I received refried beans instead. My recommendation to this and any restaurant is if you're out of food, close until you restock. Customers deserve better quality and service for their money. And to the server with the bad mohawk, cleanliness is next to Godliness. Wash your hands dude.

Service was terrible. I had to get up and ask them every time I needed something. Food was mediocre, but also extremely expensive. Priciest dinner I've had in months.

Unfortunately, my last visit to this restaurant was very disappointing, and I didn't even get to eat due to poor customer service. I wanted to order two individual Garnachas, but the man in charge told me it couldn't be done. I then decided to order the order as it appears on the menu: 3 garnachas for $13.95. However, in the end he tells me that the total would be $25. When I asked him why, he told me that the order came with 5 Garnachas.
I showed him the menu where it clearly says that the order is 3 garnachas, but he insisted that, due to the change in menu and system, they are now only sold in orders of 5, arguing that that is how it appears in the photo outside the restaurant. I found it very frustrating and confusing, especially since there were no tables occupied at the time.
On previous visits, my experience had been very positive, but unfortunately I can't say the same this time. It's a shame that poor service and lack of menu clarity ruin the experience.

Food is very good (their recommended Jambalaya in photo; very dense and spicy so you should probably get side of rice). ~$20 base for most dinner dish. Pop is $4. One slice of garlic bread refill is $2.

Great food, great atmosphere. Steak was tender and delicious—guacamole was fresh, tortilla was clearly handmade minutes before serving. Churrasco for sure. Music is great, not too loud. Just feels homey, like your Guatemalan friend is making you food. Doesn’t feel like a restaurant—feels like you’re at a friends house who has a pool table. Phenomenal.

I found my new Go To Hidden Gem when I am in Raleigh-Durham. And I do mean hidden. It is located behind a gas station and a little hard to find.
This place was fantastic. I have eaten Guatemalan food in the past, but none this good. I had a perfectly seasoned 8oz ribeye churrasco with the fixins. Guacamole and chips came with it as an appetizer. I like guac, but this was amazing! Reasonable prices too.

I didn't get it but now I do.
I have had pupusas a couple of times, (yes, I mean two), before and I didn't really get all the fuzz about from friends. I liked them okay.
Yesterday's experience at Roots Grill might have changed me into a true convert.
I found myself in the area and my brother-in-law suggested the place since it was just a mile from where I had met him. On my way out of town, I stopped by, getting the Guatamelan pupusas with chicken to go.
I wish I had take a picture. They were glorious looking. As for the taste, they were magnificent. If ever in the area again, I am stopping by. I definitely recommend it.
