Not sure what's going on with the burgers from this location. I have always gotten the same thing from (any) sonic, the supersonic double... I don't get food from here often but occasionally we make the trek over there. Last time (several months ago) I was there the burger smelled and tasted rancid. Ended up making me sick. Thought it was maybe a one time deal, just got another burger today and my husband decided to try one for the first time as well, and both were soggy, gross, smelled bad and not edible. Got less than half way through my burger before my gag reflex was too strong to force it down. The burger patties are either no good, or they need to be cooked more.... less than half an hour and I'm stuck in the bathroom. Probably won't be attempting to give this sonic another chance. Do yourself a favor and just go to the Burger king right next door or Wendys down the street. Never an issue!

The food was not very good. The bun was soggy from the relish and it wasn't very hot. A milkshake fell out of the back seat of the truck and the lid popped off. Before we could get anything cleaned up the manger came out and asked if r needed help with clean up because we couldn't throw our trash in the parking lot. Had no intention of leaving it. Put thanks to the manage for Being rude before she knew what we'd going on. The young girl that brought our food out was very pleasant.

Scathing Review of Sonic Drive-In, Moyock, NC (Location ID 5290)
If you’re thinking about stopping by the Sonic Drive-In located at 103 Currituck Commercial Dr, Moyock, NC 27958 (location ID 5290), think again. My recent visit on June 28, 2024, was nothing short of an appalling display of unprofessionalism and blatant racism.
Our group of 15 high school and middle school students and teacher leaders from a study abroad trip in the Outer Banks stopped here for lunch on our way back home. Excited to try Sonic, our anticipation quickly turned to outrage due to the abhorrent behavior of the staff, specifically the manager.
As we approached the restaurant, one of our teacher leaders unknowingly stopped at the menu near the drive-thru. Instead of politely redirecting us, the manager aggressively told her, “Get out of my drive-thru.” When she asked him to repeat himself, he did so in the same rude tone. This was only the beginning of a series of disrespectful interactions.
When we gathered around the outdoor menu, another employee came out to explain how to order. We shared our concerns about the manager’s behavior, but she merely excused it, citing a policy about keeping the drive-thru clear. This explanation was insufficient as it did not justify the manager’s rudeness.
We asked to speak with the manager, who unapologetically confirmed that it was he who had been so disrespectful. We requested the district manager’s contact information, but the manager refused. He instructed the employee to tell us to leave, saying, “He said you can leave.” The fact that he chose to dismiss us rather than address our concerns demonstrates a shocking disregard for customer service and a blatant display of racism.
Even after leaving in disgust, the disrespect continued. When I called later to get the manager’s name, I was hung up on twice. This consistent pattern of disrespect is unacceptable and reflects extremely poorly on Sonic as a brand.
In summary, this visit to Sonic Drive-In was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The manager's racist attitude and complete lack of professionalism are intolerable. Until Sonic takes serious action to rectify this issue, I strongly advise against visiting this location.
For those considering a stop at Sonic Drive-In, save yourself the trouble and find a place where customers are treated with the respect they deserve. This location’s management needs a complete overhaul if they hope to earn back the trust of their patrons.

The guy that took our order could have been a bit more enthusiastic. He was very blaa. We were speaking on a speaker and hard to hear him and when I said so, he did not chance his tone to be louder, so it was hard to order.
