The ribs were not good; in fact, I detected zero smoke taste. So though they were tender, that alone was not enough for me to rank them as good. The fries were not hot, lukewarm. My son had chicken straps. They were good. Ultimately, I will not eat here again.

Holy cow! Can you create a similar place in Burnsville, please!. Probably the best fried chicken I've ever eaten in my entire life. I mean it! Unfortunately for me, it's a journey to get up to Avery County, but whenever I'm headed north past Spruce Pine, I say to myself, "what the heck, I'm gonna stop there for sure." Whatever those folks are doing there to produce such deliciously cooked and well-prepared side dishes is just top notch in my humble opinion

Not sure where to start. Like many other reviews this place needs a deep cleaning! Floors are gross! Decor bland, people working there just a bunch of unprofessional kids. Worst BBQ I have ever had. No taste, chicken overcooked and dry. Smallest pieces of chicken I have ever seen in my lifetime. Outrageous priced for what u get. I will never go back.

My husband and I had lunch on a Monday in July. Counter service was helpful, friendly and good. Food was reasonably priced, prepared right and tasted good. Bathrooms were pretty gross, needing some serious deep cleaning on the sticky floor, otherwise this is a great restaurant to stop at when you’re traveling through High Country North Carolina.

Absolutely delicious. Got the half rack of ribs, mac & cheese, and hush puppies. Very homey inside. Food came out quick and service was solid. Highly recommend if you've got a hankering for good bbq.

I ordered the carolina burger, half a rack of ribs, bbq plate with macaroni and okra, and pecan cobbler.
Carolina burger did not have slaw or chili. It was full of onions and pickles. The pattie was very dry and tasted store bought.
The bbq was dry and lacked flavor. The okra and macaroni were OK at best.
The pecan cobbler... well it wasn't in the bag. I checked my receipt and yep I paid for it. I even left a tip. People work too hard for their money to not get what they paid for.

Came here to eat after a long day and an hour and half drive and have been craving this place for so long and is one of my favorite places just for us to begin to walk on and before we are five feet away from the car an employee rushed out to tell us that if we did not have a call in order we could not come in and this was at 8:38. I have never been so disappointed in my life. If I was aware then I would have been happy to place an order. But all I can say is I won’t be back.
