Good food. TERRIBLE service. Have to wait an hour to get our food EVERY time. I'm done.
Great food in the heart of Oriental!
I had the classic fish and chips — perfectly battered and fried flounder with crisp golden fries. Simple, fresh, and delicious. My dining partner ordered the rare ahi tuna sandwich, which was beautifully seared and packed with flavor. The tuna was high quality with a great texture and mild taste, just as you’d hope. Service was good — not quite as warm as I prefer, but still efficient and attentive. All in all, a great spot for a satisfying coastal meal. We’ll definitely be back!
cute little cafe place with good fish and chips and shrimp/scallop pene
I have dined at this restaurant several times while visiting Oriental. NC. I really love it and they have great selections of food. You can meet interesting people also.
The food was TERRIBLE!! I let everyone know on YT in my food review how terrible it was. Great atmosphere though. The gas station in oriental had better food.
Cold food. Nuff said..
Four Steaks ordered, one came out right. Never came back to ask if we needed anything, left us with empty drink glasses for half the meal. No water set, was left with piles of dirty dishes infront of us. server delivered apps with a phone in her ear unable to set plates down on table. I couldn't give a Zero so a one it is.
First time there! Great food, Great staff and Great service! Will definitely be back!
In a time when inflation is rapidly changing the value equation of dining out, M & M was outstanding exception. We arrived on a boat and wanted to treat ourselves after a rough day on the water. But bar food was getting monotonous, so we picked this venue. What a great choice: fresh shrimp almost right off the local boats, entree selection varied and vast, prep, presentation, and vibe all excellent. And NOT crazy expensive! Will hit it again upon our return.

Prices were 25% to 50% lower here (depending on the item) than in Virginia and Maryland and the food was better. My husband and I ordered the grilled scallops and tuna and shared. They were both wonderful. Very friendly bartender and local diners. Highly recommend.

"Arrr, it’s been a fair spell since I’ve dined at M&M’s, but even when the power went out in port—courtesy of some scallywag takin' out a power pole in Shilo—the corn crab chowder was as delightful as I recall! A hearty salute ter the crew fer keepin’ the spirit alive, with prices and fare as bountiful as in the glory days of the ’90s and 2000s. That be a treasure worth huntin’ for, ye may lay ter that." - Pirate Monkey

Great food and drinks! Friendly staff and good times all around. Buffalo shrimp special and crab cakes were awesome.
Parking: No parking lot. Have to park on the street. May have to walk a block or two.
Kid-friendliness: Kids are absolutely welcome here and would have no issues finding something to eat.

I ordered the Lobster Roll but they had run out. I then ordered the lamb chops, but they were too well done. I did enjoy the atmosphere and the friendliness of the wait staff.
