Very laid back atmosphere and food was beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection. Amazing flavors. A little spendy but worth it. Will definitely be back. Our waitress was awesome as well she did an awesome job accommodating our 2 picky toddlers.

Neighborhood bar and restaurant, sort of, in the middle of a small seacoast village that's the epicenter of a very large boating and sailing and fishing and cruising community. On the ICW. Have eaten here dozens of times, many times at the bar, alone, and have almost always emerged after meeting new, interesting people. Food and beverage is waaaaay better than it has to be (tonight: broiled, juicy soft-shell crabs with some v. good domestic Sauv. Blanc, which followed an excellent cocktail; but there's ALWAYS something really special coming from the back of the house (thanks, Dave!)). This is kind of the after-business-hours center of Oriental. Laid back. Long-term. A treasure.

The food and staff were terrific and would highly recommend going there. My wife and I plan on going back. I really enjoyed the Cajun Mixed Grill. The Ahi tuna was cooked perfectly, for my taste and so was the shrimp and andouille sausage 😋. The rice and beans were a nice compliment and I even didn't mind the slaw. I'm not much of a fan of wet or over vinegared slaw, but this was fine. My wife rated it 7 out of 10. My wife really enjoyed her Shrimp and grits. Had enough for 2 meals. I would actually give this place 4.5 🌟s. The only ding on truly have is that my wife's Moscato was a bit flat, not undrinkable, just not sharp. I get it, restaurants are running on a thin margin, especially under thus current administration, but they should not hold white wines for more than a week opened, unless they are vacuumed sealed, but even then no more than 10 to 12 days. Reds can hold up to 2 weeks for your bigger, bolder reds, just 10 days for the lighter reds. I use to bartend for several years and I didn't like it when the other bartenders/owners held them longer than they should. You have paying customers and they expect consistent quality every time. With that said, this restaurant is a must go and enjoy

Was just there, bar area was busy so I figured food would take a bit.... I walked out after 45 minutes wait for hamburger....seriously it ain't filet mignon. Supposedly there was a large to go order! (Like that should even matter). This is the 3rd time it's taken forever and I've spent $1000 on food over the years.. I'm done!!! You could have warned customers before they ordered a drink! At least the toucan has a view while you wait and it's not nearly as long!
The grilled shrimp were great with pasta salad and fresh vegetables. I waited more than 30 minutes to get my food on a busy Saturday evening. The outdoor patio area was nice and had screened windows to keep away any bugs.

We ate here twice during our stay, dining in once and ordering takeout once. The food was good both times. Nothing fancy, just good basic NC seafood. One negative note: We were asked not once, but twice if it was okay to add a 10% gratuity for food we had not even received yet while paying for the takeout order. I would have likely tipped her something, but asking for a tip is simply bad manners, poor training, or perhaps bad parenting. The food was good and she talked herself out of a tip by expecting it for having done nothing.

The family loves coming here for special occasions. The wait staff are awesome, the food is amazing, always have a good specials board and appetizers. The seafood is fresh, we love the hushpuppies and the steak is the best around the area. Couldn't recommend M&Ms enough!
