Nestled by the water, Toucan Grill and Fresh Bar boasts a picturesque location that promises a relaxing dining experience. However, my recent visit left much to be desired.The restaurant's prime waterfront location offers stunning views and sets the stage for an enjoyable meal. The service, too, was commendable, with attentive staff ensuring a fast and polite experience. However, the initial positive impressions were overshadowed by several disappointing factors.While the service was prompt, the same cannot be said for the food. Despite the efficient service, there was an extensive wait for our meals to arrive. However, it's worth noting that the grilled chicken stood out as a highlight, delivering on flavor and tenderness. Unfortunately, the overall quality of the dishes did not match the steep prices, leaving us feeling underwhelmed and disappointed.**Outdoor Patio Atmosphere:**Adding to the disappointment was the outdoor patio area, which was enclosed with plastic for the winter season. While understandable, what followed was unacceptable. Shortly before our food arrived, people began to smoke on the patio, where we were seated. As the crowd of smokers grew, the cigarette smoke permeated the air, overwhelming both the food and the atmosphere. This intrusion of smoke tainted what should have been a pleasant dining experience, leaving a sour taste in our mouths.In conclusion, while Toucan Grill and Fresh Bar may boast a prime location and commendable service, the overall experience fell short of expectations. The slow arrival of food, coupled with mediocre quality and high prices, left much to be desired. However, the grilled chicken stood out as a highlight, showcasing the potential for excellence. Furthermore, the intrusion of cigarette smoke on the enclosed patio significantly detracted from the dining atmosphere. Unless improvements are made to address these issues, it's difficult to recommend Toucan Grill and Fresh Bar as a dining destination, although it could easily earn a higher rating if not for the smokers' presence.

The only place I have found GF fried seafood on the menu. The shrimp, scallops, and oysters were fried to perfection with a light tasty GF batter.Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free fried options are rare, they pulled it off perfectly. Thanks!!

Popped in for a quick bite while the hubs was test driving a boat and I had the best time and even better service/food with Chelsea at the bar! I understand why this is a locals favorite!
Menu posted on website has significantly inaccurate prices. Prices were actually almost double what is on their website. Clam chowder needed salt but there was no salt at the table and the waitress never came back until it was time to give us our bill. The other soup listed was no longer available. Place needs some updates.

Had a great casual meal at a reasonable price. The service was very good and a nice location. We ate in the porch outside. A view of the boats at the dock.

Menu definitely makes the meals look better than they are. Got the pimento cheese burger and it was just a burger slapped on a bun with a bit of pimento cheese and bacon, no condiments, no lettuce or tomato or anything. My sister got the Mahi Mahi bahn-mi which sounded very good on the menu but was just Mahi Mahi and seaweed salad on a bun served with a packet of Mayo, for about $20. Way too pricey for the quality of food. And service was subpar, had to ask three times for napkins, and it took 15 minutes and going to the bar to ask for us to get water. In fact we were barely paid any mind until it was time for the tip (they were not busy), other reviews incredibly accurate about the mediocre overpriced food and service.

Very disappointed in my crab cake yesterday - menu states that they are made with lump crab meat but they are not. Server was great and drinks were great! Wish I had taken a pic of the crab cake. Will return but will order something different.
