For it to be some many there maybe 200 people for the experience the food was not good. The best was the beef ribs but not worth $52 barbecue was mushy no flavor at all and brisket rice was good but brisket wasn't had weird after taste. Waited over 4hrs not worth it. Over priced no flavor they should give samples to first timers so we can decide if its worth the wait...which wasn't for me

Truly such a great first experience and will definitely be going back and taking family/ friends with me! Everyone was so nice that works there and the owners even came and introduced themselves and were so sweet. The food was out of this world amazing and I can’t recommend it enough. So thankful ACO has somewhere like John G’s with great food, atmosphere and great people! 🩵

Best BBQ I’ve had in my life. Definitely want to get there early. Bring some chairs and company. At opening time the line is wrapped around the building. People are nice and very laid back. Loved it. Beef ribs, brisket fried rice and nanner pudding were my faves.

This place is THE spot for brisket, bacon burnt ends, and turkey!! Tater tot casserole and Mexican street corn salad are the most amazing sides 😋 Aside from the top notch food quality, the service and experience are absolutely unparalleled. Highly recommended!

Look (Read on for the 1 disappointment)...I hate to give this place away, but it's too darn good to keep it a secret. It was my first time so I really wasn't sure what to expect. I ended up spending $222 for 2. 1. Expect a line and limited seating. Follow the rules, order before seating. In winter dress warm, it's cold under the covered breezeway. People were in line before you so they should have seats before you too. Crazy how people don't follow simple instructions when they had an opportunity to read the rules for 25+- minutes, waiting in line.
2. Food was 10/10. The breakdown: 1st Place: Smoked Turkey. Moist, flavorful, Tender. 2nd Place: Beef Rib. Fatty, Buttery, Smokey, Barky, Flavorful. 3rd: Brisket: Ditto to Beef Rib, just less bark 4th: Pulled Pork was good, not as tender throughout as the other cuts, no bark or crust in what we had 5th: Cheese Sausage, snappy, seasoned, creamy 6th: Bacon Burnt Ends li' tough for my liking, gave a jerky feel 7th: Cheerwine sausage: No taste of Cheerwine
The disappointment: As a first timer I didn't realize I could order less than 1/2 lb. I made adjustments as I realized it.
HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT: I asked for a beef rib. The sign says they are 1lb to 1 and1/2 lb. They sliced a 2.26 lb rib. BE MINDFUL. If it's huge, ask for a smaller one. They aren't cheap.
The service was good, be nice to the lady that cleans the table and everyone else on staff.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about this place. I had the smoked turkey (was amazing you have to get) and brisket (also incredible). I had the tatertot casserole, mac and cheese and brisket fried rice. While all the sides were tasty the brisket fried rice you need to at least get a pint of. When the green onion aroma hits you add the sauce that's included (is it called yum-yum sauce?) and you'll be reminded you made a solid choice.
Long story short owner is super personable and great to talk with, staff was very friendly and you can tell they enjoy where they work. Would absolutely come back with more friends it's absolutely worth the trip.
Im not person who leave reviews to anybody, cause its not my thing, but for Jon G place i have to do it. I went last saturday for first time with my neighbor and hands down guys. World famous for a reason. The owner, John G., was so kind and stopped by to talk to me and my 2 kids even after a long day serving up BBQ. What a tremendous guy and a great place to eat.

Loved the experience and the staff. Sadly our ribs smelled and tasted like fish? So was not pleasant at all. If there is anything they do perfect it was the breakfast taco and the brisket fried rice. I would pop in just for those if I could. All the sides were decent. Not worth the wait in the long run for me, but I respect what they do. I wasn’t blow away, but I’m still glad we got to experience it.
