Everything Is Good! Go! Don't Procrastinate! Go!
We waited for 4 hours to get to order the food. They have some fans outside and free beer with water in the cooler in front of the restaurant. The food was delicious as expected. Staffs were friendly and nice. Some people started the line from 7am, we got there at 11am so when our turn to order, some of the item were out. We recommend to bring your own chair and tent to block the heat in summer.
Go here if your time has no value whatsoever. Then it will be totally OK to wait 3+ hours for a plate of pig. They seem to be more concerned with bragging about a long line than actually moving customers through it. After 30 min being open, 9 people were allowed to enter the building to wait inside, and there was over 100 people waiting outside. Again, for the people whose time is worthless, this tradeoff is acceptable and they will undoubtedly say its phenomenal food as a defense mechanism. If they didn't claim it was the most terrific food ever, most would be forced to admit it was an immense waste of time. Good luck and bring your lawn chair if you're going to sit in a parking lot for 3 hours.
It was worth standing outside in the blistering heat for hours, but they did have umbrellas in the line. Then, the burnt ends were so good that I lost consciousness. I don’t even know what a white brisket is, but, my goodness. Run, don’t walk, shove that brisket down your gullet or you’re a nerd.
What a unique experience! We got there around 8am on a summer morning about 20 or so people ahead of us. Brought some chairs and a cooler. Everyone looked like they were having a great time. Some partie's playing games, drinking mimosas, quiet chatter everywhere. People kept rolling in and heading to the back of the line to begin their anticipation for some wholesome bbq! Around 10 they started serving breakfast. The breakfast taco was definatlely in my top 3 tacos ever! Got a peach and cherry kolache as well and they were very good! They had fans blowing and water sprayers going as well to cool yourself down, much appreciated! Around 10:30 they had a cooler full of drinks, one drink per person for free! Super nice! Then 11am hit and everyone slowly put their chairs back in their cars and the line started moving! I like how they let people in 10 or so at a time, enjoy their meal inside and then let the next group in. (So you can enjoy your meal and cool down). Top meat was brisket hands down! Juicy, melt in your mouth tender! We also tried turkey, pulled pork, bacon burnt ends, spare ribs and cheerwine sausage. All of the meats were very good but that brisket stands out on its own! For sides we got baked beans, coleslaw, tator tot casserole and mac and cheese. The reason for the 4 star was for the sides. I feel like so much love went into the meats that the sides were just there. Baked beans and coleslaw were the best ones out of the bunch. Banana pudding was bomb! Overall, would I do this again....yes! But maybe in the fall or spring!
Gotta get there at 7am and it’ll take 3-4 hours to get inside. Bring chairs and a cooler of beers
We love Jon G’s! We’ve gone to his pop ups in Charlotte and he has a special event in June with several other bbq folks and they do it for charity. The event is great- there is a big tent with tables and chairs as well as some picnic tables under a more permanent structure and a bit of inside seating as well. It’s fun to try bbq from the different places, make friends with your table mates and fellow bbq enthusiasts. There was also a band playing, which made it so festive. It’s a bit of a drive from Charlotte, but totally worth it. We can’t wait to go back for a BBQ Saturday!! (They are usually only open on Saturdays and it draws quite a crowd, lining up early and staying all day)
Best food in the world. Bet me

By far some of the best barbecue I’ve ever eaten. I have dined here multiple times with friends and always left content. It’s only open one day a week, but it’s well worth a weekend trip

I moved away from NC to Maine and the only thing that I miss more besides my family is this brisket. Y'all do not know how good you have it! Cherish this place. Best BBQ I have ever eaten in my life.

We went to The pop up Jon G’s was having at Triple C brewing. It was fantastic!! The best BBQ anywhere near Charlotte. We have been to their place in Peachland which is only open on Saturday and you have to get there early since they serve until sold out. It is about 1.5 hours from where we live, so we don’t go often. This pop up at triple C was great. The brisket was moist, flavorful and just the right amount of fat-yum. Coleslaw, Mac n cheese delicious along with the baked bean. We are big lovers of Triple C so that was a major plus. Hope Jon G’s does more pop up in Charlotte!

I’ll make this short. Very few restaurants are worth a 4.5 hour wait and Jon G’s is no exception, especially for average BBQ. We got there at 10 and placed our order at 2:30. I went for the brisket and was very disappointed, dry and lacked flavor. Even if you get there at 8:00am, still a 3 hour wait. There are much better ways to spend a Saturday.

It's the closest thing to Texas BBQ you'll get in the Charlotte area. I cant give this 5 stars simply for how much longer we waited for this vs our experience at Franklin BBQ.
I generally think very few foods are worth a 5hr+ wait. I do NOT consider Jon Gs worth the wait. We arrived at 8:45. We did not sit down to eat until 1:45pm.
It was a ridiculous wait. We had AT MOST 50 people in front of us and it took almost 3hrs to get served (they open at 11am).
I get waiting, I get the exclusive nature of this place. Ive been to other BBQ places like this and honestly, this was absolutely not worth it. Plan to spend the entire day here if you go.
The food is good.

If you want to wait a long time and get the Texas experience, this place is a nice stop. We won't be back any time soon.

Best BBQ in the Charlotte area. Jon G's is an experience and worth the drive and wait. The Briskey is true Texas style brisket. It's moist and delicious. The Porky B Taco is must try. You can't go wrong with whatever you get.

Waited in line for two hours. By the time I made it inside to order they had ran out of a lot so had minimal selections to choose from. Flies are crazy outside while waiting in line and ppl inside are swatting away flies from their plates. Food wasn't good enough to wait in line for two hours again. Employee's are very friendly but I don't want my BBQ with a side of flies.
