HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

My wife and I recently moved to the area and have been enjoying trying new restaurants.

My wife is a physician, and for Christmas she received a gift card to Elliots from her boss, who highly recommended it. Around the same time, our daughter was visiting from Italy, so we thought this would be a perfect opportunity to enjoy a special family lunch together.

Unfortunately, what we expected to be a memorable experience turned into the most disappointing and unpleasant restaurant experience we have ever had.

When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty, which we assumed was because it was lunchtime. As we walked in, we spoke to the chef and asked whether we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. From the very beginning, the chef did not seem interested in welcoming us at all and simply told us to sit anywhere.

We then sat at our table for nearly 30 minutes. During that time, an employee walked by several times but never acknowledged us—not even to say “someone will be with you shortly.” We initially thought they might be preparing to help us, but no one ever came. It felt as though we were invisible.

Feeling extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome, we eventually decided to leave quietly. As we walked out, the chef saw us leaving and showed no concern or interest whatsoever.

We are still unsure whether we were ignored because we were the only family there or for some other reason, but at no point did we feel welcome. It was an upsetting and unacceptable experience.

We will never return, and we would strongly advise others to think twice before dining here, as no customer should ever feel ignored, unwelcome, or disrespected in a restaurant.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner last night, and I'm so glad he picked it! We had a reservation for 7:30 and they sat us right away. I really loved that the waitress didn't come over to the table for a couple of minutes after we sat down, so we had plenty of time for a look at the menu. Too often when we go out, I don't even get the chance to look at the drink menu before I'm being asked what I would like, and since this was a surprise dinner, I didn't get a chance to look at the menu online.

We split the Serrano ham appetizer, which came with a nice bruchetta, and it was absolutely wonderful. The portion was perfect for two people, but I kind of regretted sharing since it was so good. I got my old fashioned smoked, and it was poured table side and the entire drink was wonderful, as was my husband's pilsner.

For dinner, I ordered the elk while my husband ordered the fillet. I went with the recommended med rare for the elk, and it was cooked perfectly. And I say that as someone who eats blue-rare steak normally. It was easy to cut, tender, and the sauce served with it was amazing. My husband's fillet was also melt in the mouth, and our sides (potatoes, truffle Mac and cheese, and brussel sprouts) all tasted great, even if they weren't exactly my thing. No reflection on the chef or the taste; I just personally like saucier Mac and cheese and the mashed potatoes had carrots, ham, and something else in them, and the texture was a bit too much for me.

For dessert we ordered the creme brulee and the goat cheese cheesecake. Both good, but I had to take half the cheesecake home because my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach at this point.

The absolute best part of this meal was how unhurried we felt. I didn't even notice that it took us two hours for the whole experience. I absolutely love that there was some time between the appetizer and the main course for us to sit, talk, and just enjoy instead of rushing through dinner. The patio with the fire pit looked so cozy I kind of wish we'd gotten there earlier for a drink and to sit outside (and it hasn't been so cold!).

Overall, the service was excellent with the single mistake being corrected quickly, and the food itself was amazing. Absolute five star experience.

The food was delicious! The service was good. We weren't rushed. The prices is reasonable. Chef Warrens in Southern Pines was our favorite date night. I have to admit this is our new date night going forward. We spent half of the money we would have spent at Chef Warrens. We will be back here again. Thank you staff for an great experience.

Charles with a capital C is the ABSOLUTE best waiter we have ever had the privilege to have! Amazing personality and very knowledgeable about the food and desserts. Charles shows excellent pride and care in his position. We visit Pinehurst for work and will come back asking for him. Outstanding young man!

Dinner was excellent- fresh and great flavor. Our server Elizabeth was phenomenal, she was enthusiastic and informative. We all had a great dining experience, not cheap but well worth every penny!

Without a doubt my go-to for a celebration or any formal occasion. I cannot express how amazing the staff and food is. Cannot wait to return.

Lovely restaurant with a varied menu and great (but expensive) wine list. Our server was delightful and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, a top notch experience.

We arrived 45 early to have drinks and sit by the fire outside! The manager greeted us and had a great conversation! We tried the ceviche- which was a perfect starter! Then we had the amazing Salmon and Halibut! And of course we had to get the truffle Mac! It was an amazing dining experience! We will be back again when next in town!

Elliotts on Linden is our "go to" restaurant in Pinehurst for private dining and when we have family and friends visiting. The food at Elliotts is always seasonal, fresh and expertly prepared. The wines (my favorite is the Annabella Pinot Noir - Russian River) are not to be found at other area restaurants. The manager and staff are extremely attentive and considerate. They take care of you - who does that nowadays? Cheers to you Elliotts on Linden!!!

All around excellence in service and food. Ceviche was one of the best I've ever had. Oysters were excellent. The mustard shrimp and grits was a little overwhelmed by the mustard. Suggest toning down the mustard. Cocktails and wine were also very good.

Always quality food and service. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Pinehurst area. Madison, our server, was very conscientious about a nut allergy. I am a vegetarian and they have an excellent selection of dishes.

Date night out. Everything was timed out perfect , right from the time we walked in and were shown our table. Great service, great food and wine advice, great meal. Enough said
