If you're from the Northeast or California, you won't like this place. Sushi is not good. Sushi was either bad or not fresh. We ordered 7 different types and the only decent one was shrimp Tempura (cooked) Service was okay.
The restaurant itself was not nice inside. Oddly shaped and no nice decorations.
Food just average at best.
This is my family’s favorite restaurant in Pinehurst!! It’s very high quality and we find the pricing reasonable for the area. We have gotten lots of things off the menu — I would most recommend their special Neko poke bowl, the pad thai, wakame salad, and the donuts dessert (they are very indulgent and great for a special celebration). Also they have a really good weekday lunch special.
Food and atmosphere were good, but the service was very poor from one waitress in particular. We ordered a volcano roll and she brought the wrong order, an avocado roll instead. When we disputed it she insisted it was what we ordered, then we pointed out the ingredients on the menu and she admitted it was her mistake and she would take the roll off the bill which was fair. When the bill came she still charged us for the volcano roll. When I disputed this on the bill she would not take it off. Instead I asked her to get me a volcano roll to go if she was going to make me pay for it despite telling me she would take it off the bill. The situation was very poorly handled. Would not come back due to this.
Absolutely delicious!!
The best in Moore county.
Wow. Neko's has really stepped up. I decided to try them for a sushi lunch, and it was top-notch. The blue fin tuna and wagyu A5 were particularly good. Large proper portions on the sushi, too... It's easily the best sushi in the surrounding area. Well worth the money.
Also, they have a Thai Doughnut desert that will blow your mind... And I don't do desert.
I am not usually one to leave negative reviews, but our first experience here was awful. I would give 0 stars if possible. We arrived at 7:30 on a Sunday and waited at the door without being spoken to for about 15 minutes. A server, who was not very friendly, came and told us that she would have a table cleaned for us shortly. We were sat soon after. We ended up walking out as it was 8:10 pm and she had still not come over to our table to greet us but a couple who sat after we did had already received water and their wine. The server did not even bat an eye in our direction while we were sat. There was also a box fan blowing on two other customers and they kindly asked that it be pointed in the other direction as it was cold and she had an attitude about this. As a server myself, I can understand being busy and understaffed but the service was still unacceptable. I was very much looking forward to dining here as I had heard great things about their food, but we will not be returning.
The Chicken Katsu, Curry, and Salmon Avacado roll was absolutely delicious. It never fails to blow us away everytime we order it. Must check this place out if your in pinehurst.

We’ve eaten here quite a few times and the sushi is always excellent. We usually get it to go but dined in this time. Whenever we order it to go it’s ready in 20-30 minutes. Our dine in service was excellent and our server had a great personality as well as being professional. We ordered the rainbow roll, volcano roll and Neko roll. All were delicious! Sake was great too.

The food was amazing, but the server was rather rude in rushing us along from the moment we got there.

Ordered Neko on DoorDash today for the very first time. I had the Shrimp Tempura and the Spicy Crab Rolls. I must say, to have been delivery, this was the freshest sushi I have tasted in a very long time. I was very impressed with the freshness and definitely impressed with the price. My only complaint was one soy sauce packet per each roll choice. I personally would have preferred two. That would have been plenty. The small amounts in the Togo packets was just not sufficient. Two thumbs up 👍 👍. I will be making this a frequent delivery choice.

The worst service I’ve received in Pinehurst. It was a 2-plus hour experience because the waitress did not put in our order and when the order was received, it was incorrect and tasted mediocre. I understand that things happen and some nights are extremely busy, but there was not compensation of anything. Something as simple as, “Hey, we will comp everybody’s drinks or appetizers to apologize for our mess-up” would’ve sufficed. No visit from the manager. Nothing. I’ve always heard raving reviews about this place, but will not be back.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Neko. From the start, we waited an unreasonably long time for our server to take our order. When the food finally arrived, it was served in a staggered manner: 3 out of 9 people at our table received their meals an hour before the rest of us. To make matters worse, a large group that arrived after us was served, ate, and left while we were still waiting.
The issues didn’t stop there. Our server failed to ring in half of one person’s order, brought the wrong dish to another, and mixed up the checks. Throughout this ordeal, our cups were empty most of the time, and no one came by to apologize or address the situation. This level of service is baffling and unacceptable.
After years of dining at Neko, this experience has left such a negative impression that we won’t be returning. It’s clear that the quality of service has deteriorated, and I cannot recommend this place based on our experience.
