What an amazing experience and how amazing the food was. Such a wonderful surprise. Tucked away out of the blue is the best restaurant around .
We have now tried 3 of the 5 tartare dishes, and I cannot wait to go back to try the last 3. We reordered the original 2 we tried and added a third because they are that good. Everything else was amazing as well, but the tartare stood out from any dishes we have had before and since.
Restaurant offers three 3 course pre fix price options which each contain about 6 different main course options. Plenty of parking. Very small and quaint.
Tartare has a very nice bistro menu (specialty includes various wellingtons), we were disappointed in the service. This is the second time we've been and both times there is only one server/bar waitress. While this is a relaxed setting, almost 3 hours for an appetizer, entrees and dessert seemed slow.
It seemed strange that a credit card was required to make a reservation. The restaurant was not busy at all. We were the second table filled at 6pm. Also, there was no mention any where of there being a pre fixe menu at $70 or $90. But there was ala carte available too. Food was good, but booth was very uncomfortable.
The food was absolutely amazing! Some of the best duck and filet I've ever had. So many wonderful flavors.
We were given a gift certificate from friends for this restaurant. We used it to celebrate our wedding anniversary and found it to be a wonderful experience. The ambiance was nice as it was quiet so that we could talk without hearing conversations at other tables. The menu has two options, $70 and $90, which covers an appetizer, main dish and dessert. There were a number of selections so most diners would be able to select something they will enjoy. What made it really special was the outstanding service, the wait staff was very attentive to us without becoming a nuisance. Very enjoyable, recommend it for a special dining experience!!
Perfect night out and absolutely delectable menu!

My husband and I had dinner here and it was a different dining experience. I got the beef Wellington, plantain with shrimp, and crème brûlée. The beef was tender and the puff pastry was airy and flaky.

French martini set the tone for the rest of the meal. It was light and refreshing. Two menus to choose from for a three course meal. There were plenty of options. Main course was on point! The real star of the meal for me was the dessert, sweet well presented and everything went together perfectly. Even the berries were perfect!

Don't be put off by the fact that this restaurant is in an old strip mall! Excellent French cuisine and welcoming waiters. My only complaint is that the our table was near the bar and the sound of the bartender shaking drinks was annoying.
My husband surprised me with a date night and took me here. It was absolutely amazing. The service was spectacular with the staff being very attentive. It is a smaller and more intimate dinning experience and perfect for a quieter environment. The food was exceptional. Every plate you could see the love, care, and passion Chef George has, nothing cookie cutter. At the end of dinner Chef George came out and performed the violin beautifully. He truly does care and is very passionate about every aspect: the restaurant, the food, and the live entertainment. After, Chef George came to each table spending time talking with everyone. You will not be disappointed or feel rushed (make sure you are not in a hurry to leave). This is truly an experience you should take part in if you can.

Amazing, unforgettable memories were created to celebrate my wife's birthday. The service was great and the atmosphere of the restaurant is even better. Tartare in Pinehurst is truly a one of a kind French dining experience. The Beef Wellington and Tuna Tartare: "C'est magnifique!"🤌 Having the owner of the restaurant entertain us with his skillful violin playing was the cherry on top. I would recommend them to anyone and most certainly plan to return again.
This restaurant is truly exceptional. Tucked away like a hidden gem, it offers an unforgettable dining experience. The chef's talent is remarkable—believe me, the food is phenomenal. I visit many restaurants, but this one stands out above the rest. If you are in Pinehurst or Southern Pines, North Carolina, you absolutely need to try it. The tartare, in particular, is outstanding.
