One of the best and unique dining experiences around. Always enjoy the meals, drinks and hospitality. Looking forward to our next dining experience there!
We had dinner for our anniversary at Tartare. The menu had a fixed price 4 course dinner or you could order items separately if you didn't want all 4 courses. The drink menu/wine list was good and reasonably priced. We had a nice bottle of Pinot Noir, filet mignon (Diane and Bourdain,)steak tartare, Caesar salad, chocolate ganache, and an orange ganache. Everything was delicious. Our server, Adara, was attentive and knowledgable about the menu. We would definitely recommend Tartare.
Great food, great experience. Sleeper in the PH area. Guys trip to PH, crew went here a night. We all got different wellingtons, tried all of them, all were great - everything was, from the apps to desserts. Chef came out to play the violin, true master - and added a fun surprise during the meal. Server beyond nice and attentive. 🙏

First time will go again! Food delicious, waitstaff helpful n attentive! Added ambience was an unobtrusive fine violinist. Reasonable wine list added to enjoyable night out.
An unbelievable experience. One of the best restaurants anywhere in the country. It rivaled my favorite meal almost 30 years ago in Bermuda. The whole team and Chef George are amazing. We will be back.
A divine meal. One of the best meals all 4 of us had ever had anywhere. The music at the end by the Juilliard trained owner violinist was lovely. Great for a special occasion.
We’ve dined at Tartare several times over the past few years, and overall the food and service have consistently been good. The mixed drinks, however, have been fairly average compared to the rest of the experience.
On our most recent visit, we were surprised by the introduction of a new three-course menu. While there is still an à la carte option, the pricing structure strongly nudges diners toward the fixed menu. Combined with noticeable price increases and smaller portion sizes, Tartare now sits firmly in the very high-end price range—arguably one of the most expensive dining options in the area.
That said, it remains a solid dining experience with quality food and attentive service, just at a notably steep price point.

Came here for my anniversary. I had the Tuna/Avocado Tartare, Filet Oscar, and Chocolate ganache. All excellent. 10/10 would recommend for a special occasion.

I’ve been visiting family in Pinehurst for 25 years and this was the best single meal I’ve had in town; it would be a very top restaurant in all but the top 5 cities of the US and even in NYC it would hold its own as a quality place.

Tartare is hands down the best restaurant in Pinehurst. The ambiance for a date night for a small group of couples is incredible. The food is consistently exceptional. The Beef Wellington is my favorite dish anywhere, and the duck is always perfect. Their cocktails are just as impressive as the menu, and the service is warm and attentive every visit. This place deserves to be packed every night. If you haven’t tried it, go!

What an amazing experience and how amazing the food was. Such a wonderful surprise. Tucked away out of the blue is the best restaurant around .
Had my birthday dinner here. Overall I would say the highlight is the wait staff. Call me spoiled but I have had French food in France. I had French onion soup and whatever was served to me was almost black. Usually a French onion soup is a darker brown color. Whatever we ate was dark black and tasted burnt. I ordered the Cordon Bleu while my husband ordered the Beef Wellington. My cordon bleu was super mustard-y and my husband said his Beef Wellington was too salty. I can understand the lack of people in here during peak dinner time. The menu needs an overhaul or some quality checking. Would I come back? Maybe during the weekend with the head chef. I should have checked the reviews when they said the head chef was only around during the weekends.

We ate there on 10/25/25. The ambience is strip mall, booths and dark. It’s fine, just know that going in. I feel like the business casual dress code has me expecting something different. The food was just ok. The French onion soup was sweet, the grilled Cesar was more than slightly grilled so it was more like cooked spinach texture and the salmon and the chicken cordon bleu wellingtons were just ok at a best. My son said the filet was also just ok. I am honestly puzzled by the strong reviews.
