Food was absolutely great. I also had a smoked old fashion. In the group we had duck, salmon Wellington, salmon tartare, scallops, Jaeger schnitzel. All great.

First time dining here and the service and food were fantastic. Lovely atmosphere in a relatively small space. Easy to hear conversation at your table and not from other tables. Appreciated the Saturday evening music. Perhaps make the entrance more appealing; I know it's a challenge in an outdoor mall setting. I went because of the reviews and personal recommendations.

The Tartar restaurant in Pinehurst, North Carolina, offers a delightful fusion of French-inspired cuisine with accents from Central American and Caribbean fare. The classy atmosphere and impeccable service contribute to a near-perfect dining experience. The balanced flavors in each dish make it highly recommended, despite the higher cost, justified by the overall quality of the food and the dining experience.

The food was absolutely amazing and the chef played violin to cap the night off. A beautiful experience with some of the most amazing food I've ever had the pleasure of eating.

Highly recommend. The restaurant and staff was lovely. Food was excellent. We have been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and we chose to do it for Valentine's Day (though we always celebrate the day after to avoid crowds). We will be back!

We expected something a little better. It was portrayed as a “unique dining experience”. The reviews and pictures looked great but our experience was below average I guess. The atmosphere was scattered with “cheap” decor. The meat quality was low. Our steaks were very fatty and tough. They tasted like they were baked in the oven. For the price that we paid it was not worth it.

The food was unbelievably good and fresh. The owner/chef came out and had a conversation with everyone in the restaurant and then played a few songs on the violin. What an amazing night. Only point I would take away is the location is odd. Totally better experience than you would expect from the outside.

Tartare has an amazing menu to choose from...and the food is prepared excellently. If you do not care for balsamic glaze on your food however, make sure to request no balsamic glaze.

Delicious meal. Was blown away by the quality of meat on our steaks and the grill master. Ours were perfectly cooked. Will definitely be back. I ordered the ribeye and the wife got a filet. Hers was so soft you could have gummed it.

This was our 2nd visit to Tartare because we enjoyed the French onion soup and wanted to try new items. We ordered the French onion soup again and it was not up to previous standards. We also ordered the very pricy beef wellington and ordered ours rare. Both beef came out well, very disappointing. The photos on line showed a gourmet wellington and that was not our wellington. Last, the wellington was extremely salty.

Party of three celebrating a birthday party. Wide selection of French wines, excellent choice of primarily French menu. Much appreciated Chef George playing Happy Birthday on his violin, as candled cake was presented to the table.
