We ate outside and the atmosphere is very nice. Lots of statues, ambient lighting, candles on the tables, and beautiful. The waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful. The food was good and the complimentary bread was yummy. My only complaint was after my daughter ordered, we found out several minutes later that they were out of that special for the day. No problem but I don't like to pay premium prices to see her disappointed. Later, the same thing happened again with her dessert. Sold out of tiramisu also.
The patio is perfect, my food was good I had the olives and feta, salmon with the Romaine salad and carrot cake. The cake and the patio were the highlights. I would recommend this location. The service was good, the server was friendly as was the manager who took a few group photos for us.
We were excited to try this restaurant due to wide selection different from other restaurants in the area but were severely disappointed… My husband had the worst duck we’ve ever had. It was damn near inedible. It tasted old as if it were cooked days ago and close to going bad. I had the fried grouper which was soggy. Thought maybe the dessert would at least be decent but to our dismay the Tiramisu came out with mold on it (which my husband didn’t notice until eating much of it)! This is so sad as our waitress was pleasant and the atmosphere is wonderful. This restaurant seems like a prime example of what should be on Kitchen Nightmares. It’s the worst restaurant we’ve tried, especially with the high price tag… Wished we would’ve read the other reviews before trying this place out and just thankful we didn’t get severely sick.
I have never been more humiliated in a restaurant!I came to Theos with another couple with a 5:30 reservation on the patio. The waitress, Martha was awesome. Unfortunately I ordered the baby lamb chops medium rare, but they came out well done. I originally was going to order the lamb loin chop special and was told it was 1 chop so I switched to the 3 on the regular menu. When they came out well done I said I'd rather order the special.... My friend got 2 large chops. 3 minutes later I was told sorry, u got the 3 chops again. She already had them to serve. Shocked I cut into all 3 and they were inedible, fatty, gristly, and raw. I'm assuming they were trying to "teach me a lesson." Not only was I humiliated by the chef but trying to navigate the rest of the meal was torture. I tried to pretend I was fine. The waitress tried her best to recover but I just wanted the night to end. NEVER AGAIN WILL I SET FOOT INTO THIS ESTABLISHMENT!
I have never had a bad time here. One of my favorite restaurants in the whole world. The avgolemeno is one of the best things I've ever tasted and the menu is replete with world class fare. Try the lamb shank, seafood risotto, the Spaghetti, the Spanokopita....on and on. Try it all.
Such a lovely place. They were very prompt with our drink order but didn't rush us at all - I had a lot of catching up to do with friends of my parents. Loved the decor and the food as well. I had the mousakka - yum! My friend got a fruity cocktail and I got a manhattan - 2 drinks from 2 ends of the spectrum and they were both delicious. They allowed us to stay as long as we wanted to linger.
Delicious food and great service. I dined al fresco in the brick courtyard. There was music, beautiful plants and fountains.
As residents of Pinehurst, NC, Theo’s Taverna is always a treat for dining in Greek style. The restaurant inside really makes you feel that you could just outside of Athens. But the courtyard offers you a delightful Mediterranean outdoor experience. The food is fresh & the service is warm & friendly. Try the grilled octopus and the flaming Saganaki. Don’t forget the the Ouzo with them. OPA!!
Beautiful restaurant with great potential, but what a disappointment. They advertise old country Great Traditional Greek Food, however nothing could be further from the truth! I have honestly had better Greek food in a mall, over what I ate today. After we were seated and given our water (that must come from Flint Mi.) we waited for at least 15 minutes for the waitress that finally arrived, chewing gum uncontrollably, in an ATTEMPT to mask her cigarette breath. Her appearance was so non-professional, and her delivery was equally as bad. There was an item that accompanied my wife's meal that was a Greek tomato and onion mixture (no cilantro I promise) that the waitress called pico de gallo! Imagine that pico de gallo at an authentic Greek restaurant?! " I said, Pardon me, did you ask my wife if she wanted her Pico De Gallo on the side? " She said yes, that's what they call it cause they don't speak English. (I assume the chef/s?) I ordered a Gyro platter that came out with some wilted wet lettuce, one small wedge of tomato, one Kalamata olive, two small pepperoncini peppers, and a wedge of Feta Cheese. The Gyro meat was paper thin mall meat,(Beef and Pork made to smell like Lamb) that was overcooked like well done bacon! The pita bread was store bought CRAP! you can get at Harris Teeter. How terrible that we invite the world, literally the world, into our village and try and pass off food and service like this. What a waste of time and money and calories! Greek food??? says who?
Great food authentically prepared. I experimented with grilled octopus, but anchored the meal with gyro platter. Delicious. Leave room for dessert!

Wow! What a jewel in Pinehurst Village. Went Sunday after church with friends. The atmosphere imside was was warm and full of charm. If it were not so hot outside, it looked like their courtyard would be such a pretty area to eat. The hostess and wait staff were so friendly and professional. We ordered the hummus appetizer and it was definitely homemade and amazing. I ordered a cup of lemon chicken authentic Greek soup and it was deliciously homemade. Then I had the Gyros and the platter was large and delicious! The rest of our group all loved their meals also. I will definitely return as I can imagine that I am going to crave those flavors now that I’ve had them. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
Lovely, had a late lunch! I enjoyed the beautiful ambiance & delicous authentic Greek food! ? Such a beautiful Taverna & lovely garden seating! They also have a dinning room with two beautiful fireplaces! Great Staff & Service, also delicious deserts! I'm really looking forward to dining for Dinner! Bravo Theos?
We arrived at the restaurant early one night and asked for a table on the patio. There was no one sitting at any of the tables. Wait staff said it would be fine and went to get menus. Owner then came out and said no seating without a reservation. He didn't smile and was unpleasant. No effort to be nice. We returned on another night with a reservation. Again the owner was all business without effort for niceties. The food could have been excellent. The only problem was it wasn't hot. You could tell it was prepared ahead of time and reheated. However, no one checked to see if it was hot. The prices are too high for mediocrity.
Really enjoy the food. The trio of dips as an appetizer is awesome. Any Greek or Mediterranean dish is superb. And take away a bottle of their own olive oil as well.
Went 2 different days on our 7 day vacation. The first time was amazing from start to finish with Alex as our waiter. The second time was a total bust our server was new and kept apologizing every time she came to the table. Not once did she ask us what we would like to drink, i went to the bar and got my own. We waited way too long after ordering our meals for them to come out. I think the food is awesome. Our waitress shouldn't have been on her own so the service was the worst i have had in a really long time. She was just way too inexperienced not her fault, management shouldn't have allowed that to happen.
