If there's a restaurant to eat at while you're in the pinehurst area, it is Wolcotts without a single doubt. Whether lunch or dinner, you will not be disappointed.

On Good Friday afternoon the restaurant was quite & our initial order of your “delicious”fries (our son & DIL, frequent Walcotts) took forever, apparently the kitchen didn’t get the order & our server wasn’t aware enough of our order, to inquire about it…?. 3 out of 4 dinners were very tasty, unfortunately my lobster bisque was not…, but the lobster rolls were very tasty (the bisque was lacking in lobster & flavor, sorry to say! We will try again…having just moved from Phoenix AZ., we have enjoyed great & fine cuisine, we will return another time & hope for a better experience!Parking: Street parking only & it’s hard to find an open spot unless you come at off dining times!

Lovely place for romantic dining! Snagged a table for Valentine’s- so quaint! The service was perfect- waiter was so nice and helpful. Complementary biscuits were amazing. The Salmon risotto was my pick ?? and the hubs was the steak and potatoes. So so good. Try it out!

Overall great service and atmosphere. While food was great, some items did not seem worth their price point.

Great place to eat. Went here on a date with my wife and we had a blast. Waitress is personable and even a bit cheeky, food is excellent, atmosphere is quaint and romantic. Just a great spot.

Stopped in town for lunch and was recommended to eat at this restaurant. We are adventurous so we walked there.Waitress took our order and brought our drinks and then about 15 minutes later she came back to tell us about the specials. Then she said Oh I think I took your order already. She then said she never put it in and we can order a special still. We declined. Our order took about a 45 min to arrive. The burger my husband ordered was raw. The fish was ok, and fries were good. The best two things were the patio seating and the iced tea. Felt a bit let down by the experience.

Food was good. Service was terrible. Everything took forever, seating, drinks, food. The “bread” literally came an hour after we were seated and was rock hard and cold. Not sure if it was an off night but our experience was not great.

I have a lot to say about Wolcott’s, but most of it can be crystalized down into a few succinct words. Excellent food, professional friendly service, comfortable historic setting, good wine, the best company, one of the hight points of our journey.Of course the food was extraordinary, people had talked about it ever since we arrived in Southern Pines, a town that simply radiates a sense of Southern Charm and old world history and Wolcotts seems to quietly exemplify that character on its little side street. Not bragging. Not making a fuss. Just serving a refined lesson in what visiting Souther Pines is all about. I mean the essence. The Steak was perfect, the bone marrow was nothing short of a revelation, The word Savory does not begin describe it. You would think that at some point it would stop being savory and start being salty, but some kind of magic happens, some alchemy, like lead turning into gold and a new level is reached. That’s the bone marrow. Now I understand cannibals and Zombies. And I should bow my head for a moment and consider the Holy Fry, or as they call it, Pome Frittes. They came hiding beneath the bone marrow like the nest of a rare bird of prey, the whole plate like a wild delectable puzzle to be taken apart and explored a piece at a time. The Pomes were Honkin amazing! Every single one of them absolutely crispy perfection! They didn’t need salt, they were’t too salty, they were amazing. The waitress treated us like we were old friends and like she was happy and proud to be there. Like the menu was something special, like we were something special. This is what real professionals do. Staff who have mastered service as an art and understand it puts them on an equal footing with the world. Staff who are comfortable in their skin and make their guest comfortable at their tables. Walcott’s is a special place. It’s not a facade like so many places, it’s real right down to its foundations. And why do we come to places like this? With the dearest of friends, with kind family that we have not seen in so many years? Why do we choose Walcott’s for our final night n the South? To start new traditions. To create new deep family memories, new stories, new reasons to return.

An amazing dining experience. The service was top notch and the food amazingly well prepared. I had the duck to eat and the 160 west sangria to drink. The duck practically melted in my mouth and was savory and perfectly prepared. The drink was sweet with the perfect amount of alcohol in it to be flavorful but not overpowering. I’ll definitely be back.
