Some individual “customers” are leaving five-star reviews and explaining that the extra 3% fee is for credit card processing. I want to let you know that these additional charges are highly unstable, and there are no receipts or explanations provided. Other restaurants on Ally51 do not have these invisible charges that do not appear on the receipt.

I love this place. Great dumplings, affordable boba and friendly staff. I’ve been here 3xs and it gets faster each time.
A note in the credit card charges. They charge a surcharge to use your card. The staff actually informed me of this before I swiped. I will say they need to be a bit more transparent about this.
Ally 51 has several vendors but this one is def a fave. I’d post a pic of the food but I devoured it 😊
Vegetarian options: They have at least 2 bun that are vegetarian and one noodle dish. If you allow eggs, add 2 more dishes to your list.

I would not recommend the BBQ Pork Bun here. I feel like their buns are alittle undercooked and more liquidy on the inside in comparison to buns I've had from traditional dim sum places in New York or California. The pork also lacks flavor and doesn't have that same taste dim sum usually does. 3.25 for 1 bun when dim sum places are usually 3 for 3.50-4 is also ridiculous for not being good either.
Also heard a lot of people have had issues with their bank charges from this place so I'll be looking out for that.

I love the buns so much! My favorite has to be the Redbean Bun, I also love the Coconut Smoothie! This place is like a sample of the store in E Independence. Staff is friendly as well, I see a lot of reviews about the credit card hidden fee, but when you pay there's a little card informing you that there is a 3% credit card fee, so it's maybe a little miss. Love this location ❗️

I discovered today that I was charged more on my card than what was shown on my receipt. I made three purchases at this store, and a Hispanic or Asian girl was the cashier. I don't know what happened, but after reading the reviews, I understood everything. Everyone, beware of this store. Using credit cards here is not safe, and the store is not trustworthy. Be cautious!

A few times when I bought milk tea, the receipt showed the correct price, but when I checked my credit card statement, I found that I was charged more each time, and the amounts did not match the receipt or the price list.

I've been a regular customer at this bun shop, and today I noticed that they have been overcharging me by 50 cents to a dollar each time. The amount charged doesn't match the receipt, and the discrepancy was so small that I hadn't noticed it before.

The buns were plain, not tasting much. The fillings are only about 1/3 of the bun, too much flour, and they are super plain. Waste of money. I bought two and got disappointed by both. My total was $7 on the receipt but they charged more than $8 on the card, I only saw it after I left and reviewed my statements. Sneaky business!

I rated the food 1 star, but calling it food is a bit of a stretch to start with. Frozen dim sum at premium prices. 3.25 for 1 frozen BBQ pork bun? Seriously? I don't think so.

I can understand that they are busy since they just opened but the staff is extremely rude. We had questions about the different buns and was told they’re basically all the same. Food tasted okay, wasn’t anything special. I was told to use my card to pay since they didn’t have enough change. My total was about $4 and some change. Since checking my bank statement I was charged $5.02. They must have added tip that I did not authorize. Please be aware.

Super delicious. The only thing I was surprised about is that they didn't warn me anywhere on the menu or when I ordered that the Chinese curry was very spicy ? . They didn't ask me to make sure, they don't have any signs up that the curry is hot. It was difficult for me to eat it and I eat semi spicy food regularly. Please add pepper signs on the menu items or some other kind of warning labels. Thank you. It's a bit loud there, so be prepared, it's like a cafeteria/mall, they didn't put anything in the space to absorb noise.
