I noticed this place today and gave it a shot. I was unfamiliar with the menu, Kan, the owner, helped me order two dishes and an appetizer. The flavor of the food is something I've never tasted. I will return.

The food is absolutely delicious and never disappoints. Highly, HIGHLY recommend the Chikkar Cholay and the sesame naan!!!! The owner of the restaurant is very kind and has even recommended things for us to try when we haven't had an idea of what to order. Zauq is one of our favorite little spots in Pineville and I hope that you try it out!!It's also great for takeout if interested.

Most of the food is very good. Some portions are chintzy. Menu prices fluctuate without notice. The main server has zero people skills and seems to just not give a crap. Again, the food is very good and freshly made, but it's a challenge to get past the other stuff.

I've never eaten here but I have done DoorDash pick ups here and if you do DoorDash and you're a woman, I recommend declining their orders. When I went in to grab a DoorDash order, I got it no problem but when I walked out this man was running after me trying to give me a sauce. He said "it goes with your order!". Feeling relieved that I wasn't missing items from the order, I said "thank you" He then went on stand in between my car door to ask me if I had a boyfriend. I literally had to say "excuse me" so I could close my door. I'm a woman by myself, it's nighttime, and I'm the only car in the parking lot. I thought this would be an isolated incident until I accepted another order from them a few weeks later. THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED. This old man ran after me to give me a sauce that was apart of my order then stood in between my door to ask me if I had a boyfriend. Do not eat here. The way they treat women is absolutely disgusting. Thank god DoorDash has the power to not send dashers to stores where they feel uncomfortable. Ps: when I left my Google review, they basically called me a liar

I bought chicken curry and on getting home only to find 3 little piece of chicken drumstick in a meal that I was charged $28 for. I called the restaurant to ask why I only got such small meat but I was told that’s how they sell it. I was so disappointed & felt duped. I’ll never go back again!

This place has the best Pakistani food I've had in a long time and I'm so thankful we have a great place now in Pineville/Charlotte! The kebabs are wonderful! I always like beef kebabs but at Zauq, the chicken kebabs are also so delicious! Add naan and chicken haleem...amazing!! It is my favorite restaurant/food!!

Food is good, the person on register dealing with customers is very rude, unprofessional and looks like he doesnt want anyone to come inside the resturant or he hates the owner and trying his best to shut down the resturant.Never coming back here for sure.

Wish I could give zero stars. Came here with my mom to pick up an order of 12 Seekh Kabobs. Price on the website and the menu in the restaurant was $36.99. Charged us $47. They gave us only 8 kabobs. Went in to let them know the number of the kabobs were wrong and the price too and the man at the front counter was extremely rude, I believe he is the owner. Told us that we shouldn’t go off of the price listed on the website or the menu they have in store. If the owner’s attitude is the way it is why would anyone want to come here? This will be the last time we come here. We won’t deal with dishonest and rude people.

Food tastes nice, however, service staff is not welcoming. There is additional 16% charge on before tax total for dining in. Menu prices were different from actual prices charged on the final bill. Received over $200 bill that included $35+ cost for dining (before any tips). We basically got ripped off.

I thought they read customer reviews and try to improve themselves as a part of continuous improvement. I stopped by this place on Sunday 12/19/2021 while coming from Michigan. Chicken Malai boti directly goes to the bin as whole dish was uncooked. Outer side looks cooked but as you bite it’s all uncooked. Qorma is basically Stew, not Qorma but reasonable for eating.

I think the picture speaks for itself. I got takeout… they gave me a bowl of grease.

Just had the most expensive but most mediocre shahi paneer ever. 5 pieces of smelly paneer for $15.99 ordered through doordash. As a customer and regular at south asian restaurants in the country I found this prohibitively expensive. And i also received plain naan although i paid for butter naan. Hopefully going by other reviews mine is an exception. But this poor review will stay and prevent me from recommending this joint.

Old food served. Naan was so crunchy and hard you could tell definitely it wasn't fresh. Sauce was also bad. Not going there again. Been there twice before and was named Zafran. Food wasn't bad at that time. Now with same interior different name and bad food.

Ok, average. Carried out. First time. No rice with the palak paneer, separate order apparently, I am used to my local place, by bad. Chicken biryani was dry and mostly lacked chicken, a couple bites at best. Need to stick to the local place I know.
