We came on a Thursday night which is a slow night in Plymouth. We came in about 7:15ish and seated/ordered quickly and the food came out quickly. IT WAS DELICIOUS!! We aren't fans of country music but I tuned it out because the food was that good!

Retracing our honeymoon trip to the NC Outer Banks 56 years ago, we stopped in Plymouth, NC, for an evening meal of fresh steamed oysters and shrimp at The Garden Spot. The rustic upstairs setting matched our desire for a casual, relaxed meal. Dennis skillfully shucked our half peck and enabled us to savor every oyster we dipped into the house pepper vinegar. Interrupting her birthday celebration, the restaurant Mama, joined by several family members, honored us with personal greetings. Mama Wally generously shared restaurant and family history, which cemented this evening in our memories. We look forward to a return trip this fall in oyster season.
