Virgil's Drive-In Restaurant

I ordered a combination dinner of chitterlings and chicken. My sides were Mac and cheese and yams.. I am a little disappointed because I’m from the Midwest so I was very excited to try southern soul food. The Mac and cheese was decent but it was maybe 2 little spoonfuls. Not a full side at all I took literally two bites and it was gone.. The yams were good. The chitterlings were not real chitterlings. It was little bits of some kind of meat. I probably wound not order from here again and do not recommend for 25 dollars.

Well currently the inside restaurant was closed but there is seating available outside at picnic tables that are covered that protect you from getting rained on and plenty of parking outside also they have a drive through and they have excellent food. meals, sandwiches and good choice of sides. The barbecue sandwich was the die for. the macaroni and cheese was awesome

Joyce Virgil and staff are prompt. They care about their customers. The food is that home cooked soul food comfort. Food is consistently good. Din in or take out😋😋

You would think by now they would have a better way of service. Slow as hell. Got my order wrong again. Food is definitely not as good as it once was.

Drive thru or pickup

Answer the phone and STOP answering the phone and sitting it down for over 15 mins and then hang it up.

The food is good, but the service is horrible portions is small.

I used to love their Mac and cheese but it doesn’t taste the same. Tastes like they added that canned cheese mess. How does an old soul food restaurant completely run out of fried chicken in the middle of the afternoon? Mrs. Joyce, please regulate.

We drove by this restaurant about a week ago. We decided to place an order here today for takeout. We decided to order two combination plates; one with stew beef & fried chicken with fried okra and yams. The second plate with Stew beef & fried pork chop with cabbage and fried okra.
The stew beef and rice with gravy is very good. It is seasoned very well and the meat is extremely tender. The fried pork chop is delicious and seasoned well. The fried chicken is good and seasoned well. The rolls that came with the meal are extremely soft. The food here is very good. If, you have an opportunity to come here and try the food, please do so. There is not a place to dine in so, you have to place your order and wait in your car or stand outside while it's being prepared.
I know that we will be back to try other menu items.

Virgils food restaurant is the best food I have ever tasted. Especially the fried chicken I might get a 40 pc later.

I got the ribs, mac and cheese, yams and greens and hushpuppies. Absolutely amazing. The food was great. The reason it's 4 stars and not 5 is because online it says they open at 1130 on Sundays. Once I got there I was told they opened at 1230. Since I drove quite a bit to get there, I decided to wait, it was worth it though. Also, there is no dine in. You order and pick up at a window and take your food to go. Other than that, it was great! The lemonade was delicious.

Updated review. So the wait time has sped up which is good. Food still awesome I’m giving 3 stars. I have a problem with the lady at the window. I asked for my drink up front today and she slams the screen like she hated to make my drink ahead of my food. Also I like double Mac and cheese one time she told me you can’t get double Mac then today I asked for double Mac and tries to charge a extra dollar smh you would think there was steak or high graded cheese in the Mac. She really needs to work on her manners there. Overall Virgil’s is doing better food wise customer service needs improvement.
