It's been a while since I got back this way, but I tell you what, the food is still as good as ever and the servers are just as friendly as ever. Once I knew i was going to Fayetteville, I had to stop back by for the best soul food around that area. I got my chittlins and rice with Mac and cheese and steamed cabbage. My God it is so good. If yall haven't been to this place and are near it, yall need to check it out. They cook a lot of different soul foods and it all is so good. Thank yall again for treating me to a wonderful belly filling lunch.

The chicken wings weren't that good and the hush puppies tasted like they had garlic powder in them . It tastes a lot different from what I remember. The wait time is better after you order.

Listen to the locals! I loved the food we bought. Smothered chicken, chicken wings, hamburger steak,. Yams and cabbage were great as well. Mac and cheese was the best!!! I also got a meatloaf plate..... I didn't like that one. The 3 of us tried it and it was very heavenly salted and more of a mush it was falling apart and wet. The mashed potatoes that came with it were also watery and bland. There was about a 30 minute wait but it was worth it. This restaurant is a hour and a half from me. I do a lot of traveling to Fayetteville and I plan on returning and trying more dishes.

UPDATE 3 YEARS LATER: Again bc the food is delicious we take the 45 minute drive to eat 2 times this week. I checked their hours online and it was posted they close at 7pm. We arrived there at 6:10 and they tell me they are closing. No food for us. We decide to try again later in the week. I tried to call them doe 2 days to check on their hours. Never an answer. We took the ride again and again they are closed. I have no idea what their true hours are so if you go then make it mid day to make sure you get to eat.

I drive 45 minutes weekly to eat there. Yesterday I went and asked the clerk if gravy comes on the mashed potatoes. She said she didn't know which was odd since she works there but also she didn't try to find out. I said I'll have mashed potatoes with no gravy in case it does come with gravy. My order is delivered and not only are my potatoes drenched in gravy there is so much gravy that my entire plate has gravy all over all of my food. It wouldn't have been so infuriating if I hadn't asked and then been told I don't know. Customer service is the absolute worst. No one is ever friendly

Not pleased at all with the bbq, the cabbage, rice/gravy and the roll was good. Tea is not sweet at all 😞 bbq had a very funny taste

Great food awful service.... they should hire someone to answer the phone. I have to belligerently call them like a stalker/crazy ex to get them to pick up the phone to PAY THEM FOR FOOD 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🫩🫩🫩🫩🫩🫩🫩

We love Virgil’s ! Delicious southern comfort food always hits the spot. Large portions and good variety - but you can’t go wrong with those fried pork chops !

I ordered a combination dinner of chitterlings and chicken. My sides were Mac and cheese and yams.. I am a little disappointed because I’m from the Midwest so I was very excited to try southern soul food. The Mac and cheese was decent but it was maybe 2 little spoonfuls. Not a full side at all I took literally two bites and it was gone.. The yams were good. The chitterlings were not real chitterlings. It was little bits of some kind of meat. I probably wound not order from here again and do not recommend for 25 dollars.

Well currently the inside restaurant was closed but there is seating available outside at picnic tables that are covered that protect you from getting rained on and plenty of parking outside also they have a drive through and they have excellent food. meals, sandwiches and good choice of sides. The barbecue sandwich was the die for. the macaroni and cheese was awesome

Joyce Virgil and staff are prompt. They care about their customers. The food is that home cooked soul food comfort. Food is consistently good. Din in or take out😋😋
