I could eat Marty’s at least 2-3 times a week. They have the best BBQ in town, and all of their food is home cooked with a southern taste to it. I see a bunch of negative reviews about the customer service & wait for food. But it’s only because they have a small family-oriented staff (keeping it in the family) & they're so busy because their food is SO GOOD. All u have to do is call in & they’ll take care of you !
The barbecue at Marty's is awesome! It isn't the typical Eastern NC BBQ with an overpowering vinegar taste. This Q has a bit of kick thanks to a combination of hot pepper, smoke and other spices that when combined with a light amount of vinegar make it burst with flavor! Since only take-out is available, I called my order in 10 minutes before arriving and barely had to wait to pick it up. Once their dining room opens, I'll be back for a proper sit-down lunch.
This was my family's first time at Marty's we went through the drive thru which I must admit is kinda tight to drive around but all was well. We ordered our food had to wait maybe 4-6 min but no problem. We got home and the food was hot, fresh, and delicious!!! I live out of town but the next time I come to Wilson Marty's will be one of my stops. The flavor of the food is a great change of pace from the other leading chicken restaurants in Wilson.
