I should have known better than to give them yet another chance . Husband wanted chicken livers and he said they were good. Filet Mignon beef tip were definitely not Filet Mignon. Tough as leather. Baked potato was brown all through as if been in oven all day. Cabbage was brown and mushy. Cold rolls brought to table immediately after order taken way before we got meals. Tossed Salad was only lettuce, tomato and cheese. On a positive note our waitress was nice and very apologetic and said she told the manager why I sent back the "Filet Mignon" beef tips and potato. If I was the manager I would have immediately come to the table. She had time as there were only about 4 other tables in the entire place. Manager checked us out and never said one word to us. No hello, no how was you meal, no thank you! Who owns this place now!? Ridiculous!
Good food. Down home atmosphere and some of the sweetest waitresses and hostesses, cooks and employees in town. Thank you Dunlow family for preserving this timeless icon restaurant and restoring her too. ๐๐ผ
My husband and I have not been to Oscar's in about 6 years. I must say that the food is still amazing and the service is fast and everything comes out correctly. The cabbage was very delicious.

Oscar's is a down-home type of restaurant. I had chicken livers, rice, and cabbage. The liver was cooked to perfection. The staff there are very friendly and attentive.

Excellent vegetable soup. Beef tips impressed my mom, who always has a complaint ready. Not today, not here! BLT and beets were loved by my aunt. The bride loved her turkey club. The groom enjoyed his beef tips. Hushpuppies top notch. Celebrate here! Laura is the best!

nice waitress but chicken pastry was way too salty to eat. My husband ordered an Oscar burger and he said it was very good. Last time I went it was also very good.

An old school vintage type of vibe. The waitress was prompt courteous and nice. This is a hidden gem in Roanoke Rapids NC and I highly recommend a visit by anyone

I had a meeting here for work... not your typical spot for a meeting, but nonetheless, it wasn't dissapointing. I had the fried flounder, potato salad, and cole slaw with hush puppies. Flounder was pre-tty good (7.8/10)... nice flaky crust and seasoned well. Potato salad was okay, I'd give it a 6/10, had just a very slight tang to it that I don't like for potato salad. Cole slaw, I'd give a 7/10, I'm sure it looks plain in the picture, but it actually had good flavor, so I was pretty happy about that. And the hush puppies were pretty good too, I'd give them a 7.5/10. I'm big on customer service, so the waiters (and people) were all very pleasant, so 10/10 for that! All said, very nice experience here. It felt a bit sketchy initially driven through, but one visit changed that. AH, THE CAKES! I had a slice of all of them except the German chocolate... not a fan of that flavor. The lemon was great(8/10)... strawberry was okay, wish it had bit more icing (6.5/10). MY FAV, the chocolate cake, which I'm a huge connoisseur... was, (6.8/10). The icing tasted more sugary vs the smooth chocolate taste I prefer. ๐ That's all folks. Country hospitality, much appreciated ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ.

Baked chicken was so tender fall off the bone. Everything was very good, the only I was a little disappointed in was the corn pudding, to me it was very sweet.
