SUNDAY morning I could find nowhere in Cheraw, Hamlet, or elsewhere in Rockingham, to dine-in homemade-style fresh diner food of such high quality as Henry's Uptown Cafe. Chain; brand name fast food & other restaurants are comparatively, sub-par. Henry's offers organic open range fresh eggs, freshly-made meats, and sides. Service is timely, knowledgeable, [Southern Hospitality] courteous, and pleasant.
Food was good, service was amazing Brandi was my waitress and she was absolutely amazing if you go I highly recommend asking for Brandi. But Henry treats his employees horrible.

Well I was going to try it out but I couldn't roll my wheelchair op the ramp and open the door. I tried twice to roll up fast and grab the handle but it was too steep. I knocked on the window and nobody noticed me outside. I left and went home.

It's a great place to eat. I had the Reuben sandwich which was made very well and yes it's ironic that I did almost bite my finger because of how good it was meaning I almost had a different type of Ruben sandwich lol. Although it's a small place to eat it's still very good and the service is excellent.

First time visitor today and it was a wonderful experience! The chicken salad sandwich with sweet potato fries was excellent! The service was fast and friendly and I loved the way everything was nicely decorated and clean. I look forward to visiting again with my family!

See that picture? That’s the Uptown Steak Burger you should be eating right now. The bun was perfect, I can’t even begin to tell you how awesome the burger itself was. The service is fantastic, the portions are perfect and everything was so tasty! This should be in your regular rotation of restaurants for breakfast and lunch!

No change. I was shorted. No change again. Shorted again. Let it go both times because it’s a local business and it was busy. Besides the food was good and you want to help out the locals like I said. This trip which will be my last. Ordered a burger with bacon. I was charged for a burger with bacon. Another customer ordered a rotisserie chicken wrap. She got up to find the server to tell her she didn’t get a rotisserie chicken wrap. Server gets the cook, cook tries to play it off like “yes it is” but then adds that it does have deli meat in it too. She’s not a happy camper. I figure that’s enough negative for them today so I paid my final bill and left never to return.
Such a Gem!! We found Henry’s Uptown Cafe traveling through Rockingham, NC today!! I had the famous Grilled Chicken Salad and he had a grain fed cheeseburger with fresh cut fries ? The food was amazing and hot & fresh. I Loved all the strawberries with my salad ❤️They we’re celebrating 14 years in business and so we met the owner, Henry and they shared cupcakes with us which also were amazing ☺️☺️So stop in and enjoy great food and service but don’t wait they are only open 7am to 2pm Monday thru Saturday- We highly recommend this downtown hidden gem!!
Parking: plenty of parking in the lot across from the cafe
Kid-friendliness: they have both grilled cheese and PBJ sandwiches
The food is good !comes out hot and fresh, I am a pescatarian, and they do have items on their menu for people who are not meat eaters. Only thing is when serving their omelets for inference I always order the mushroom omelette and ask for bell pepper and onions I don't like the big portion cut up onions, bell peppers, mushroom put in my omelette if only they could break the mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions down in the omelette then The Omelette will be on point . It is a cute little laid-back diner. I enjoy it
