Had a great lunch with my husband and our pups out on the deck. We had the tuna Sammie and The Bodie. Both were delicious and the view of the sound was lovely

Soup was cold, sent back and she brought me new bowl of cold soup. Crab cake sandwich also cold. Waitress had a terrible attitude.

First time vacationing in the area and checked this place out. Ended up going twice in the week. Great service and amazing food.
The food was the best offered during this off season. Fried shrimp & crab cakes...couldn't go wrong. The sunset was absolutely amazing ‼️ The conversations between tables was lite & friendly. Relaxed, friendly service...thanks Josh.

The only thing… be prepared for them to include an 18% tip for a PICKUP ORDER!
My family & I go to the Outer Banks annually. We were so excited to try a new restaurant. Unfortunately that excitement turned into disappointment and frustration.
I had very high hopes for this restaurant and wish my family and I could have related to the positive reviews.
After waiting for an hour (which was completely fine and normal) we get called to be seated. We walk in and give the hostess our last name. One family member asked her “what’s good here?”. She replied with a confused look and snarky laugh. She then proceeded to tell him a few options she liked which was good.
We are seated and we start thinking about drinks. As I am looking at the drink menu, I notice there are only very large options for mixed drinks. I suffer from an immune system disorder, so I know I cannot commit to a huge drink. I politely ask our waitress “Kristal W”, “Do you have any any smaller drink options ma’am?”. She responded with a bold tone “$14!”. I wanted to repeat myself to make sure she understood my question and avoid confusion. Before I could finish my sentence, she cut me off. Saying over & over again “$14! $14! $14!”
Another family member tags along with me to order a drink from the bar, hoping we’d have better luck with service. We did not. The bartender did let me have an option for a smaller drink.
When the waitress “Kristal W” comes to take our food orders, I brace myself. I want to ask a question about the soup. Already feeling uncomfortable, I don’t want to, but I did anyway. I politely asked “Can you please tell me what all is in the she crab soup?”. She replied by saying “It’s pretty much just cream and crab. Do you want me to break down the entire recipe for you?” Her tone was extremely rude and it seemed as though I was a burden to her. At this point I am over it and so is the family. Its not fun giving your money to a place who is okay with staff being rude to customers.
My soup came out cold and I had to ask for it to be reheated. Some family members complained of undercooked seafood. Others felt the food was plain tasting, had no seasoning, overpriced, and mediocre at best.
I recommend you give your business to Froggy Dogs. They are kind, professional, and you get your money’s worth.

Just left Good Winds a few minutes ago (9/9/2025) and had a great time sitting at the bar with Kris as our bartender. Drinks were great…not “too light “ if you know what I mean. Our apps were Oysters Rockefeller (hubby) and he enjoyed them very much. My Moz cheese sticks were huge!! No lightweights here and because of that, I ordered Tuna Nachos as my dinner. SO BIG!! Just the right amount of heat too. Plenty to bring home. Hubby had his normal vacation cheeseburger and raved about it. Prices were fair considering we each had several drinks. We’ll hit here for dinner again this week for sure.
Restaurantji Recommends
This was the highest quality restaurant experience I’ve had in many years. Came on a date with my wife for the bourbon, beer and wine festival in April.
The views of course are spectacular. But the restaurant is family run and they know how to take care of you. Great recommendations and brutally honest about their dishes and what goes together.
The Puerto Rican queen snapper was the tastiest bite. But the rib tips were amazing as well. So many different things worked. And the service was superb. I will be coming back and I live in Phoenix with no plans of coming to North Carolina but I want to experience that food and that service again.

Waited over a hour to be seated and place my order and the place wasn't even packed. Extremely hot and humid. Seats are horrible and extremely hard on your legs. Food was good. Our waiter (which was also a bartender there) was great.

We had the seafood enchiladas, hush puppies, ribeye steak, and the she crab soup. Everything was fantastic. We would definitely come back here again. The sound view at sunset was beautiful.
