Booked the King room mid week for a couples night out on 10/13. The room is quaint with original oak flooring and Knotty Pine paneling. The bed is medium firm Memory Foam King size and I've never slept better.Right outside the window is a small waterfall and can be heard fine. Bring a couple of bundles of firewood and have a campfire on the banks of the river, share a bottle of wine. It's quiet, remote, and features some of the most amazing stone work on the property. This place has tremendous character, the room was spotless and Corey met us as we pulled up.He offers reduced rates through AIrbnb this time of year, and since we are local, it was just a very short drive. We could easily make this a monthly treat
Wow what a terrible experience. Dirty run down poorly managed. The new owner was rude refused a refund even though we left. Will never be back.
Poor service unexperienced staff .Waited 45 mins still never got our order taken. Witness was to busy talking to friends at other tables
Booked same day reservation. Arrived and no one was around. Called the phone number and was told they didn't clean it. They would give us the code to get in but it was dirty. WTH Then I had to fight for 4 hours to get a refund. Save yourself the trouble and go some place else.
The food was so good! Very nice and chill atmosphere ☺️
Amazing staff, owner and cook. The food is always great and the rooms are always clean and you have everything you need right at your fingertips.
Great food and service. Neat place
Didn't stay had to move on but the young man I talked to was very nice.Looked like a very quiet cozy get away.Restaurant is open on the weekend the menu had sirloin tips, ribeye, layered cheesecake and more. They have a band and karaoke on the weekend also. They are not pet friendly .They do not enforce Covid restrictions.
Staff was really nice and hospitable. This family owned motel is a little off grid but is a perfect get away from the city life. Quaint room with comfy bed and a nice tv. It is budget friendly so don't expect to be staying at the ritz. Bare bones amenities but enough for a simple stay.
Well, let's just say that it's unique. My wife had seen it on Facebook and wanted to try it out. We had been there many years ago when it was the Red Lion Inn and had a real sense of charm. We entered and there were no customers, very plain tables with nothing on them, a bar, and a karaoke set up?? Our waitress was pleasant but everything felt a little rushed. Had an appetizer which was good, and ordered our meals, which included salads. Our salads came out and within a couple of minutes our meals came out. We had virtually no time to eat our salads. The dishes were good (nothing spectacular). There were more people there as we left and karaoke was cranking up. My point with all of this is this. It's hard to figure out what this place really is. They have a bar, but can only serve beer and wine. The decor looks like an old honkytonk with a mishmash of odd tables and chairs. They seem to want to be a decent restaurant, but it's not a very inviting environment to want to sit and have a glass of wine after dinner with karaoke blaring and a truck outside with a big rebel flag hanging off of the back. We all enjoyed our meal, but agreed that we probably wouldn't be back.

This place was amazing!! Definitely a hidden Gem. The staff was very nice and helpful. We camped out and the spot we had was awesome. There is a large roaring Creek running through the property, so no matter where you are you can hear it. The property also had a huge hot tub out on the deck overlooking the creek, it was beautiful. There is also a restaurant and a bar on property as well. The food was great and the karaoke that night was super fun!! This property is still under renovation and there are some VERY minor flaws such as the sauna room almost felt like a storage closet, but that was only because they are in the process of making it better. There are only 4 rooms and a few camping sites, so the hot tub was very private and my husband and I had it by ourselves for over an hour. All you can eat breakfast on Sunday morning. What a great stay!! I'm definitely going back.
The room was seriously lacking in amenities. No coffee machine. The cold water in the shower knob was stripped and very hard to cut on and off. The shower leaked all over the floor and my husband almost slipped in the tight quarters of the shower- toilet area due to the standing water. TV did not work, we told 2 different employees including the owner to no avail. The room was very outdated. Sheets had holes and rips in them. We had to tell 2 different people we needed mor. ? e towels and wash rags, hours later we finally were told to leave our old ones by the door which still did not get anyone's attention. After we got the clean towels the dirty ones were left by our door for the remainder of our stay. The roof apparently leaked at one point and had a tarp style cover on it. It is also camping grounds so, tents are all around the property. The stream/ creek area was serene but had some trash around the area which made it less appealing. Deft needs a good clean outside and inside.? If you needed anything before 5 pm when the restaurant bar staff got there it was not available. And no phones in the room to contact anyone for services. We were also told not to use the hot tub or the sauna due to someone trashing it the night before. It apparently was never cleaned our whole stay. They did not ask for any ID for our rental reservations. There is no maid service either at no time of day. No one ever tried to clean our room.
When the restaurant initially opened by the new owners, we were thrilled as it could be a great cozy riverside tavern in the mountains and was close to our mountain home. We stopped by several times for lunch and dinner and everything we tried was quite good. The owners are very friendly and seem to want to provide a good service. Over time, instead of getting better, it has gotten considerably worse! Most of the items on the menu are gone, the service is not up to par and the food is sometimes horrible. We had a steak the last time we were there and you could barely cut it with the knife. So, we have probably done what many customers have done and just don't patronize the restaurant anymore. There are many better places in Toxaway or Brevard that serve good food at reasonable prices. We hope they can somehow get their act together as we would like to return.
What a dump, NOTHING as advertised!!! Rooms were DIRTY, roof had a tarp over it, garbage all over the back. The pictures are NOT the true look of the place. NO working hot tub, no service. NO ONE on site.
We stayed at one of the Riverbend primitive camp sites and had a great stay! Super friendly owners, spot was easy to access/locate, clean bathroom area that was available up by the restaurant! You’re not all that far from town and you’re relatively close to a ton of great hikes. The creek that runs through the property was super nice. Overall a great stay and would definitely book again.
